The story behind Altra

Altra was founded in 2010 in Utah, USA , by runners Golden Harper and Brian Beckstead . The idea was born out of frustration with traditional running shoes with high heels and narrow toe boxes, which often restricted the natural movement of the foot.

By experimenting with modified shoes on a treadmill at a local running store, the founders developed two concepts that came to define the brand:
