Hestra
After more than 80 years of glove making, a lot has changed, but one thing has always remained the same:
At Hestra, the hands are the main thing .
Hestra is a Swedish family company with roots in Småland, known worldwide for its durable, functional and well-fitting gloves for skiing, outdoor and everyday use.
The family business Martin Magnusson & Co was founded in 1936 and is today run by the third and fourth generation Magnusson . Design and product development still takes place at the headquarters in Hestra, Småland , where it all began.
Martin Magnusson started his business in a farmhouse, where he made gloves for the local loggers . As ski tourism grew in the area – which came to be known as “Småland’s Åre” – he quickly realized the need for durable, quality gloves for skiing as well .
With his sons Lars-Olof and Göte , both passionate skiers, Hestra took the step into the world of skiing. When skiing grew explosively in the 1960s, Hestra followed – and became an obvious name in sports and outdoor life.
Hestra differs from many other brands by:
Manufacture gloves in our own factories
Buy leather, fabric, lining and materials yourself
Have full control over the entire production chain
Several models are also hand-made by some of Europe's most experienced glove makers , ensuring high quality, long life and a perfect fit.
Hestra manufactures over 2 million pairs of gloves annually.
Today, Hestra has over 400 active models . That may sound like a lot – but hands are different, and so are the areas of use.
Hestra develops gloves for:
Skiing & snowboarding
Outdoor & outdoor life
Hiking & hunting
Work & everyday life
Common to all models is the focus on:
HEAT
Protection
Comfort
Fingertip sensation
Everything Hestra does today has its origins in the forests of Småland , where function, durability and reliability have always been crucial. With decades of experience, Hestra combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design and material technology .
The range includes Hestra gloves for women, men and children , adapted for both active days on the ski slopes and everyday life in cold climates. Regardless of the activity, there is a model that suits your hands.
