Our store in Åre

Where is the Outdoor Buddies store?

Our store is centrally located in Åre, about 200 meters from Åre Square. You can easily find us from the main street and can visit us to shop, pick up an order or get personal help with equipment and product selection.

What are your opening hours?

Our opening hours vary depending on the season. Current opening hours can be found on our Google profile and Facebook page, where we update the information continuously.

Can I pick up my order in store?

Yes. Select Pick up in store as the delivery option at checkout.

Wait until you have received a text message or email stating that your order is packed and ready before you come to pick it up.

Can I pick up my order outside of opening hours?

Yes, in many cases the order can be picked up in our locker outside the store's regular opening hours.

Once the order is packed and placed in the locker, you will receive a code and instructions via text message or email.

Ordering and delivery

How much does shipping cost within Sweden?

For deliveries within Sweden the following applies:

Free shipping on orders over 999 SEK.

Shipping from SEK 49 on orders below the free shipping threshold.

The exact shipping cost is displayed at checkout and may be affected by the size, weight and contents of the package.

How much does shipping cost to countries within the EU?

For deliveries to countries within the EU:

Free shipping on orders over 1,999 SEK.

Shipping SEK 149 on orders under SEK 2,000.

Skis, sleds, ski poles and ice skates have a shipping cost of SEK 495. Select Europe - shipping skis and poles at checkout when the order contains any of these products.

How much does shipping cost to Norway and Greenland?

For deliveries to Norway and Greenland:

Free shipping on orders over 2,499 SEK.

Shipping 149 SEK on orders under 2,499 SEK.

Shipping for skis, sleds, poles and skates costs SEK 895. Select International shipping - skis and poles at checkout.

How much does shipping to the UK cost?

Free shipping on orders over 2,999 SEK.

Shipping SEK 249 on orders under SEK 2,999.

How much does shipping cost to Switzerland and Iceland?

Free shipping on orders over 4,999 SEK.

Shipping SEK 395 on orders under SEK 4,999.

How much does shipping cost to the rest of the world?

Shipping to other countries costs SEK 1,495.

The shipping options available for your delivery address will be displayed at checkout.

Do you deliver internationally?

Yes, we deliver worldwide.

Please note that orders shipped to countries outside the EU may be subject to local VAT, customs duties, import duties and administrative fees. These costs are not included in the price and are paid by the recipient according to the rules of the country of delivery.

Which shipping companies do you use?

We normally use PostNord, DHL and Schenker. Which shipping company is used depends on the weight, size, contents and delivery address of the package.

PostNord: Usually 1–3 working days.

DHL: Usually 1–3 business days and is often used for heavier or bulky packages.

Schenker: Usually 2–5 business days and is often used for skis, poles, and ice spikes.

In some cases, another customized carrier may be used for particularly long or bulky shipments.

How long is the delivery time?

We always strive to pack and ship your order the same day or the day after we receive your order. After that, the shipping company's delivery time is added.

During campaigns, holidays and periods of high load, processing may take slightly longer.

How do I track my order?

Once your order has been processed and is ready to ship, you will receive an email with a tracking number and delivery information.

We recommend that you track your delivery via the shipping company's website or app. It can sometimes take a few hours for the tracking to become visible after the shipment has been registered.

Can I choose express shipping?

Yes, when express shipping is available, the option will appear at checkout.

Orders with express shipping are shipped the same day or the next business day, provided all products are in stock. Estimated delivery time within Sweden is 1–2 business days.

Do you offer home delivery?

Yes, home delivery will appear as an option at checkout when it is available for your address.

Smaller packages can be left in the mailbox or at the door depending on the size of the package, selected delivery option and the carrier's terms.

Can my order be shipped directly from the supplier?

Yes. Some products can be shipped directly from one of our suppliers.

You will receive information via email if all or part of your order is shipped separately or directly from the supplier.

What happens if I don't pick up the package?

Packages are normally held by the agent for 7–14 days. The exact holding time is stated in the carrier's notification.

If the package is not picked up and sent back to us, SEK 249 will be charged for return shipping, administration and handling.

A package that is not picked up does not count as you having registered a regular return or exercised your right of withdrawal.

Open purchase and returns

How long do I have an open purchase?

You normally have 30 days to purchase from the day you pick up or receive the order.

For products with a best before date, such as sports energy and freeze-dried food, a 14-day open purchase period applies.

Special conditions or exceptions may apply to assembled skis, opened food, hygiene products and products that have been cut or customized to the customer's wishes.

How do I register a return?

Register the return using our return form before sending the product back.

Click here to register your return.

Follow the instructions in the form and pack the product properly so that it is not damaged during transport.

What condition must the item be in?

For the return to be approved, the product must be unused and in resalable condition. All labels, tags, accessories and any original packaging must be intact.

You may examine the product in the same way as you would in a physical store, but it may not be used outdoors or in a way that impairs its condition or value.

When will I receive my refund?

We will process the refund once the return has arrived, been inspected and approved.

The refund will normally be made to the same payment method used for the purchase. It may then take a few banking days for the amount to appear in your account.

The original shipping cost is normally not refundable.

How much does a return within Sweden cost?

Standard returns within Sweden cost SEK 69. The return cost is normally deducted from the amount refunded.

For the following long, heavy or bulky products, return shipping costs SEK 495:

Nikwax 25 litre cans

How much does an international return cost?

Customers outside of Sweden are responsible for booking and paying for return shipping.

We recommend that the return be sent using a trackable delivery option. The customer is responsible for the shipment until it reaches us.

Can I change the size?

The fastest way to change size is to place a new order for the size you want and register a return for the product that did not fit.

This reduces the risk that the new size will sell out while the return is on its way back to us.

Skis and winter equipment

Do you install bindings when purchasing a ski package?

Yes. Binding installation is included at no extra cost when you purchase both skis and bindings from us.

This applies to both ready-made ski packages and when you combine compatible skis and bindings yourself.

In order for us to be able to fit the bindings, we need the correct information about, among other things, the ski boot model, ski boot size, body weight and skier level.

Can I return assembled skis?

Skis that have been assembled or customized according to your personal details cannot normally be returned within the framework of open purchase.

Therefore, please check the model, length, binding and specified assembly details carefully before completing your order.

Can I upgrade ski boots or bindings in a ski package?

Yes. You can switch to other boots or bindings and only pay the difference, if any.

Do you sharpen cross-country skates?

Yes, we offer sharpening of touring skates.
