The Altra Men's Olympus 275 is generally regular to slightly roomy in size. The model uses Altra's Original FootShape, the brand's roomiest fit with a wide toe box and extra room through the midfoot.

User experiences vary from normal to slightly large. Several tests describe the Olympus 275 as normal in length, while a compilation of 12 user opinions at RunRepeat leans towards the model feeling slightly large.
Tests also show a very generous width and plenty of space both in front of and above the toes. The structured MATRYX upper helps to keep the foot in place despite the spacious basic shape.
| Fit | Experience |
| Length | Normal to slightly spacious |
| Toe box | Very wide and foot-shaped |
| Toe height | Generous vertical space |
| Metatarsal | Roomier than many trail shoes |
| Top | Shapes to the foot but retains structure |
| Narrow feet | Can be perceived as voluminous |
| Wide forefeet | Plenty of room for natural toe spreading |
The Olympus 275 should not automatically be sized like the Olympus 6. The older model is perceived by some users as short, while the 275 is more often described as normal or slightly roomy.
First of all, choose your usual size in Altra men's shoes.

Choose the larger size if:
Don't go down a size just because the toe box feels wide. Your toes should be able to move freely, while your heel and midfoot should be held firmly in place.
| Model | FootShape | Relative fit |
| Olympus 275 | Original | Very spacious toe box and high toe volume |
| Olympus 6 | Original | Spacious in width but may feel shorter |
| Lone Peak 9+ | Original | Spacious but less bulky than the Olympus 275 |
| Superior 7 | Standard | Body-hugging and lower over the toes |
| King MT 2 | Standard | Precision-oriented and significantly tighter |
The heel should be stable and the midfoot should be held in place without uncomfortable pressure. The toes should be able to move freely both laterally and vertically.
Try the shoes on an incline. Your foot should not slide forward and your toes should not hit the front edge when running downhill. If the length feels right but your heel moves, a heel-locking lacing system can improve the fit.
