BAMM (Björkliden Arctic Mountain Marathon)

Here you will find suggestions for products that are part of the mandatory personal/team equipment for BAMM 30, 50 and 70

Compass, must be a "real" compass, compass in a watch is not approved.

Water bottle 0.7 liters or several bottles with a total volume of 0.7 liters.

Sleeping pad. At least 5 mm thick covering the back from crotch to neck. Bases of balloons or air mattresses made to be used as bath toys are not allowed. However, inflatable sleeping pads that are made to be sleeping pads are approved.

Sleeping bag. (Transported by the organizer for participants in the 30 distance) The sleeping bag must be a separate unit and not connected with a jacket or similar.

Hat or buff.

Mittens/gloves.

Reinforcement shirt that fits your body size. E.g. down, fleece or wool. Vests or undershirts are not permitted

Underpants for dry changing.

Wind and waterproof trousers, taped seams.

Wind and waterproof jacket with hood, taped seams. Rain capes are not permitted.

Whistle.

Emergency provisions, for example energy bars or the equivalent (at least 50g), must be able to be presented at the finish line.

Pen for correcting map information, the type of pen is your own responsibility to choose, but the pen must work for writing/marking on a map in Tyvek (thin plastic material) where the writing can then also withstand getting wet. Each participant must have their own pen.

Headlamp (not small LEDs or similar)

Keep in mind that the competition takes place in mountainous terrain and that the weather can change quickly. Don't be too stingy with equipment and food. Use common sense, it might snow!

Mandatory team equipment for BAMM 30, 50 and 70

Kitchen and fuel (enough to be able to boil a liter of cold water at the finish line on the kitchen provided)

1st dressing containing: elastic bandage (self-adhesive recommended, not gauze!) and sterile compress (i.e. first dressing). The purpose of the 1st dressing is to be able to stop bleeding and relieve sprains, etc.

In case of protest, our competition doctor will determine whether the team's 1st dressing is appropriate and approved. Think smart and safety first!

Tent (must accommodate two people and their luggage, withstand rain and be equipped with a floor, roof and walls, only mosquito netting in any part is not approved). Transported by the organizer in the 30 distance.

Mobile phone (with phone numbers entered for the race leader and security officer. Numbers will be on the back of the map)

For participants in the 30 distance, the competition organization transports the team's tent and two sleeping bags. These must fit in a 60 liter plastic bag.
