A history rooted in the Alps

The history of Pomoca begins as early as 1870 , when the Dufour family was deeply involved in tourism and winter sports in Avants and Montreux in Switzerland. Louis Dufour , hotelier and pioneer, was the first to use skis in the French-speaking part of Switzerland and organized early ski and bobsleigh competitions for international guests.

Innovation from generation to generation

In the 1930s, Louis' son Éric Dufour , an engineer and passionate skier, took the development further. He designed, among other things, the Gaillard-Dufour rescue sled, which, using skis and poles, could transport injured people in the mountains.
