Hestra Ergo Grip Active is a versatile and durable 5-finger glove for all kinds of outdoor activities, all year round. The patented Ergo Grip construction with strategically placed seams provides maximum freedom of movement and fingertip sensitivity - perfect for activities such as hiking, hunting, fishing, mountaineering and ski touring.

The glove is sewn from Hestra's durable, impregnated goatskin leather, which provides excellent grip and durability. The upper is made of windproof and breathable GORE-TEX Infinium™ stretch fabric, which keeps hands dry and comfortable even during high activity. The inside has a thin fleece lining in brushed polyester that wicks moisture away from the hand. Neoprene cuff with Velcro adjustment provides a secure fit and attachment for Hestra handcuffs (wrist strap).

How to measure your hand

Hand circumference

Measure around the palm of your hand at its widest point, just below the knuckles. The thumb should not be included in the measurement. Hold the tape measure close to your hand without pulling it too tight.

Hand length

Measure from the crease of your wrist to the tip of your middle finger.

Measure both hands, starting with the larger one. Then compare both the hand circumference and the hand length with the table.

How is the Hestra Ergo Grip Active sized?

Ergo Grip Active has a close and pre-curved fit designed for precision, mobility and a secure grip. It may therefore feel tighter than a traditional winter or ski glove in the same Hestra size.

The fit should follow the hand without excess material in the palm. However, the glove should not push over the knuckles, pull between the fingers, or prevent you from clenching your hand.

The goatskin on the palm softens and molds slightly with use, but don't expect the glove to get longer or stretch a full size.

If you are between two sizes

Hestra normally recommends the larger unisex size when the hand is between two sizes. For Ergo Grip Active, it is also important that the larger size does not create too much space around the palm or fingertips.

Choose the larger size if:

• the middle finger presses against the tip of the glove
• the seams tighten when you grip a pole
• the hand is clearly between two sizes
• you have long fingers or thick knuckles
• you plan to use a thin liner glove underneath

Choose the smaller size only if the larger one feels noticeably loose and the smaller one still allows full freedom of movement without pressure against the fingertips.

If hand length and circumference show different sizes

If you have a narrow hand and long fingers, you often need to prioritize finger length. Otherwise, the glove can pull on your fingertips when you grip a stick or tool.

If you have a wide hand and shorter fingers, girth should be a priority, but make sure there is no unnecessary space in front of the fingers. The pre-curved Ergo Grip construction works best when the flex point of the fingers is right in the glove.

This is how the glove should fit

The correct size should:

• follow the palm without loose material
• give your fingers full mobility
• don't pull between your fingers
• let you tie your hand without hindrance
• provide direct contact with ski poles or equipment
• keep the wrist stable when the Velcro cuff is closed
• not create numbness or hard pressure

Try gripping a ski pole, hiking pole or similar handle. The glove should follow the movement without the seams being stretched over the knuckles and fingertips.

Can a liner glove be used underneath?

The Ergo Grip Active has a thin, firm fleece lining and a body-hugging construction. A very thin liner can work if there is enough room, but the glove is not designed for heavy extra liners.

If a liner makes the glove feel tight, you should choose a larger size or a warmer glove model. Compressed materials and restricted blood circulation can make your hand colder.

Important to know

The Ergo Grip Active is windproof and has a very breathable upper. However, the model lacks a fully waterproof membrane and is not intended for prolonged use in heavy rain or soaking wet conditions.

This is a relatively thin glove for active use. It is best suited when freedom of movement, grip and moisture transport are prioritized over maximum insulation.
