Hestra Heli Ski Wool Liner Mitt is a soft and warming wool liner in a thumb model , developed for Hestra's thumb gloves with a high collar , such as the Army Leather Heli Ski Mitt . A perfect choice when the original liner starts to wear out - or for those who want an extra liner in their pack to be able to quickly change to during long and cold ski days.
The lining is made from an effective combination of wool terry on the palm and airy wool pile on the top . The construction traps a lot of air and provides excellent insulation, while the natural properties of wool help regulate temperature and transport moisture away. The result is a warm and comfortable lining that works even in cold and damp conditions.

The Hestra Heli Ski Wool Liner Mitt is a removable thumb liner in wool terry and airy wool pile. It is primarily designed for the Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski Mitt and also fits several other compatible Hestra thumb gloves with a high collar and Velcro fastening.
When replacing, the lining should normally be the same size as the outer jacket.

The measurements are guidelines. Measure both hands and start with the larger hand.
If you are replacing a worn or lost lining, the size of the outer mitten should guide your choice:
Check the size marking on the outer mitten or the old lining. The same size number provides the best conditions for the lining's length, width and Velcro fastening to fit the outer mitten.

If you don't have a soft tape measure, you can use a string and then measure the length of the string with a ruler.
If you don't have an existing outer mitten and your hand size is between two sizes, the larger size is normally recommended. A lining that is too small can sit tight over the palm and restrict circulation.
If you already have a compatible outer mitten, however, you should choose the same size as the outer mitten. A larger liner may crease or be difficult to insert, while a liner that is too small may end up misaligned at the thumb and Velcro fastener.
The lining should wrap around the hand without being tight. The fingers should be able to move together in the main part of the mitten and the thumb should be able to bend without the material tightening.

The Heli Ski Wool Liner Mitt can be used as an alternative to Hestra's regular Heli Ski Liner Mitt with synthetic insulation. Normally choose the same size as the outer mitten even when changing the lining type.
The material construction of the wool lining may feel different from the original synthetic lining, so please check that:
A thin merino wool liner can be used when the outer mitten has enough space. Then try the wool liner, base liner and outer mitten together.
Don't add an extra layer if your fingers are squeezed together or circulation is impaired. A combination that is too tight can make your hand colder despite the extra insulation.
