Hestra Heli Ski Liner 5-finger is a warming replacement liner for, among others, the Army Leather Heli Ski. The liner is made of soft Bemberg fleece and insulated with the synthetic material G-Loft. It is attached to the outer glove with Velcro.

Outdoor Buddies offers the model in Hestra's unisex sizes 6–11.

What size should I choose?

If you are changing the liner in a Hestra glove that already fits, you normally choose the same numerical size on the liner as on the outer glove.

Example:

• outer glove size 7 – choose liner size 7
• outer glove size 9 – choose liner size 9
• outer glove size 11 – choose liner size 11

The size marking is usually found on the glove or the old liner. Choosing a larger liner for a smaller outer glove does not automatically provide more warmth. Instead, the liner can crease, compress the insulation and restrict finger movement.

How to measure your hand

Hand circumference

Measure around the palm of your hand at its widest point, just below the knuckles. The thumb should not be included in the measurement. Hold the tape measure close to your hand without pulling it too tight.

Hand length

Measure from the crease of your wrist to the tip of your middle finger.

Please measure both hands and use the larger one as a starting point. Then compare the measurements with the table above.

If the measurements correspond to different sizes

It is common for the circumference and length of the hand to indicate different sizes. For a five-finger liner, finger length is particularly important.

Normally choose the larger size if:

• otherwise your fingers will be hard against the tips of the lining
• the hand falls between two unisex sizes
• the lining tightens when you grip a ski pole
• the outer glove has enough space for the larger liner

If you already have an outer glove, the liner must also fit its size and internal volume. Therefore, do not choose a liner that is larger than the outer glove without first checking the fit.

This is how the lining should fit

The correct size should:

• follow the hand without tightening
• give your fingers full mobility
• don't pull between your fingers
• do not form creases in the palm of your hand
• remain in place when the hand is removed from the outer glove
• provide a stable grip around the ski pole

There needs to be some air around the hand for the insulation to work. A lining that is too tight can compress the insulation and impair blood circulation, which can make the hand colder.

Compatibility with Hestra gloves

The Heli Ski Liner 5-finger is specifically designed for the Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski and fits both the 5-finger and 3-finger versions of the model. It can also be used in several other Hestra gloves with removable liners and compatible Velcro fastening.

Always check the model and size of the outer glove before ordering. For a thumb glove, choose a thumb-shaped liner instead.

Important to know

This is an insulating inner liner and not a complete ski or outer glove. The liner is not waterproof and should be used in conjunction with a compatible outer glove for protection against wind, snow and wetness.
