Hestra Army Leather Expedition Mitt is Hestra's warmest mitten , developed for expeditions, high alpine climbing and long days in extreme cold and harsh winter weather . It is designed for professional users and enthusiasts who demand maximum warmth, durability and reliability in the most demanding environments.
The outer glove combines durable and breathable polyamide softshell with Army Leather goatskin , while the palm is reinforced with kangaroo leather for superior grip and extreme durability against ropes, ice axes and equipment.
One of the glove's greatest strengths is its two removable inner liners , which provide both exceptional warmth and great flexibility:
A fleece thumb lining with G-Loft synthetic insulation that effectively insulates and wicks away moisture
A 3-finger lining in ripstop polyamide with Primaloft® Gold , which can also be used separately as a lightweight thermal glove in a tent or base camp
The removable liners make the glove easier to dry and wash , which is crucial during longer expeditions.
The long collar with drawstring keeps snow and cold out, and both collar and wrist are easily adjusted with one hand . The included Hestra handcuffs (wrist strap) reduce the risk of losing the glove in exposed terrain. The carabiner and eyelet provide multiple attachment options to a harness or backpack.
