The Hestra Heli Ski Liner Mitt is a removable thumb liner in soft polyester fleece with warming G-Loft insulation. It is primarily designed as a replacement or extra liner for the Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski Mitt and also fits several other compatible Hestra thumb gloves with removable liners.

The measurements are guidelines. Measure both hands and start with the larger hand.

Choose the same size as the outer mitten

When replacing the lining in an existing outer mitten, you should normally choose the same size:

• Outer mitten in size 7 – choose lining in size 7.
• Outer mitten in size 9 – choose lining in size 9.
• Outer mitten in size 11 – choose lining in size 11.

Check the size marking on the outer mitten or the old lining. The same size number provides the best conditions for the lining's length, width and Velcro fastening to fit the outer mitten.

How to measure your hand

1. Measure around the widest part of your hand, just below the knuckles.
2. Don't include your thumb in the measurement.
3. Keep your hand relaxed and do not tighten the measuring tape.
4. Compare the result with the table above.

If you don't have a tape measure, you can use a string and then measure the length of the string with a ruler.

If you are between two sizes

If you are purchasing an outer mitten and liner at the same time and your hand size is between two sizes, the larger size is usually recommended. A tight fit can compress the insulation and restrict blood circulation.

If you already have a compatible outer mitten, don't choose a larger liner just to have more space. A liner that is too large can crease, end up on the wrong side of your thumb, and be difficult to insert into the outer mitten. Choose the same size as the outer mitten.

This is how the lining should fit

The right size means that:

• the fingertips are not pressed hard against the front edge of the lining
• the thumb can be bent without the lining tightening
• the lining lies smoothly around the palm
• the hand can be opened and closed without resistance
• The Velcro fastener fits right into the outer glove.
• the outer mitten can be put on without the lining being folded or pulled out of position
• there is some insulating air without the hand sliding around

Always try the liner together with the outer mitten. The fit should be assessed with the entire system on hand.
