Put on a thin sock and measure your foot length on both feet. Measure from heel to toe (it´s easier if you put your heel against a wall). Then add 2 cm for extra toe space and compare with the sizes in the table below.

Finding the right last

For 2022 we updated our last sytem - we updated and improved the fit and simplified the lasts name. A last is the foot-like form that the shoe/boot is made around, it’s used in the manufacturing of all footwear.

For our collection of boots, we work with several different lasts. Each one is slightly different, and it is therefore important to know the differences when choosing a boot. Naturally, it is an individual preference when it comes to how tight you want your boots to be. Furthermore, most of us have a different size on the right and left foot. The key is choosing the size that fits the largest foot best because an overly narrow boot often slows blood circulation and increases the risk of cold feet and blisters.

Wide (new last since spring 2022)

For people with wide feet and higher arches with more volume around the foot and more space for the toes, and for people with higher arches.

A normal last that fits most people. A good balance between comfort and close fitting, holding the foot in place while leaving enough room for natural movement.

Slim is our more close fitting and narrow last. It has a less volume around the foot and more toe spring, giving it a more rolling step.

Opti Ws last

The Opti Ws last is somewhat wider and has a lower instep compared to the Regular lasts, this is to prevent the foot from sliding forward. It’s been modified to fit women and smaller sized feet better. It is slightly narrower and higher over the ankle than Opti Ms but has the same general characteristics.

Opti Ms last

The Opti Ms last is our widest last and is suitable for wider feet. It has a lower ankle height compared to the Regular last, this is to prevent the foot from sliding forward. The Opti Ms last has a more close fitting heel to keep the foot in place.

Opti S last

The Opti S last is made to fit the foot more closely. It is slightly narrower and has less volume around the ankle compared to Opti Ms to provide a tighter fit. We use this last for our Light (Lt) boots.

Regular Ms last

The Regular Ms last is suitable for feet that have more volume around the ankle. The big toe joint is straighter to provide more space for the toes and the toe box is bigger and has more room.

Regular Ws last

The Regular Ws last is suitable for women with a higher instep as it has more volume around the ankle in comparison with Opti. The circumference is smaller. We use it in our unisex-boots Forest II and Professional II in size 36-40.

Hike last

The Hike last is unisex, and our most close fitting shell boot last. It is narrower than a Regular or Opti in the same size. The circumference around the foot is similar to our other lasts and it has ample room even though it is not quite as wide. Hike has a high toe spring and a great roll.

Glacier 3 last

The Glacier 3 last is developed to fit our 3 mm wool liners. It is updated with a wider ball width and has a lower ankle height to to prevent the foot from sliding forward. It has a low toe spring and generous toe box, to provide more room for your toes.

Glacier 5 last

The Glacier 5 last is developed to fit our 5 mm wool liners. It is updated with a wider ball width and has a generous ankle height to. It has a low toe spring and generous toe box, to provide more room for your toes.

Describing a last is tricky and the only way you can be sure if it is a good fit is to try the boots on. But to give a hint of the differences between our lasts, we have marked them with example measurements above. For example you can see that the universal last "Hike" has the same length as "Regular MS" but that Reguar MS is Wider. Opti is even wider than Regular but has a smaller circumference measurement which menas its lower over the ankle.
