How to measure your foot

It is normal for your right and left feet to differ slightly in size. It is therefore important that you start from the foot that is largest when choosing shoe size.

Stand with your heel against a wall (largest foot).

Load the foot * by standing on one leg and placing a book against the longest toe.

Step aside and measure the distance from the wall to the book. This is the measure of your foot.

*) The foot is greatest at load, ie when the foot is lowered at one step. This is the measure used to determine the correct size.

A good recommendation is that you have a space in the front of the shoe approximately like a thumb nail (approx. 1 cm) between the toe and the edge of the shoe. Remember that some prefer a little less space and others a little more space.

If, for example, you are out on longer trips, your feet will probably swell a little and then you should have more than 1 cm of space.

ALTRA’s read

What is a school read and why is an Altra read unique? A school shoe is a shape that resembles a foot and is used to make a shoe. Altra designed its school loads by starting from healthy and natural feet and then developed school loads that are shaped like feet, not the other way around.

Altra thus manufactures shoes that are shaped like feet, many different types of feet!

Altra’s shoes have 3 important features:

FootShape ™ Toe Box - All shoes have a foot-shaped toe box, which means that the toes can relax and spread naturally and the big toe can be in a straight position for maximum stability and strength.

Balanced Cushioning ™ - all Altra shoes are built on a platform with balanced cushioning, which means that the heel and forefoot have the same amount of cushioning so that the shoe is completely flat. This naturally flat position of the foot facilitates a natural running step with less strain on the feet, legs, knees and back.

Fit4Her ™ Technology - All women's shoes are built based on the unique shape of a woman's foot. Women usually have a narrower heel and midfoot, higher ankle and longer arch. Altra is the first running shoe brand to design a complete range of specific shoes for women.
