Washing & Proofing

It is important to wash and impregnate your clothes and equipment regularly. If you don't, the shell garment will lose its water-repellent ability, the down jacket/down sleeping bag its warming ability and so on.

What do you need to consider when washing your shell clothes?

First of all, use only a functional detergent. It is a liquid detergent that does not leave residues in the fabric and cleans in a gentle way against both fabric and membrane. It is important that you wash before impregnating the product in order to get the full function of the membrane, but also because the lifespan of the product increases significantly.

When you wash the product, you reduce the risk of the membrane "crumbling" around the hood, this is due to sweat and dirt accumulating and breaking down the membrane over time. The same applies to shoulders and the back.

But the product will also feel smoother and not as stiff.

Most shell clothing is best washed at 30 degrees normal or an outdoor/sports program.
