The Ortovox Bivy Ultralight is an ultralight emergency bivy bag for 1-2 people. It weighs only about 150 grams and takes up minimal space in your backpack, making it suitable as safety equipment during summit tours, hiking, climbing and other activities in the mountains.
The windproof construction has a water and dirt-repellent PU coating. The inside is silver-coated to reflect body heat and reduce heat loss when you need to wait for help or protect yourself from wind and cold.
Weighing around 150 grams, the Ortovox Bivy Ultralight is easy to carry with you at all times. The compact packing volume means that the bivy bag can be permanently stored in your hiking backpack or taken on day trips where low weight is important.
The space is enough for one or two people. One person has more room for extra clothes and equipment, while two people can share body heat in an emergency.
The bivouac bag is windproof and has a PU coating that makes the material water and dirt repellent. It can therefore provide important extra protection in the event of unexpected weather changes, accidents or prolonged standstill in exposed terrain.
The product is intended for use as temporary emergency bivouac shelter and is not a substitute for a tent, sleeping bag or complete equipment for planned overnight stays.
The silver-coated interior reflects some of the body's radiated heat back towards the user. Together with the wind protection, this can slow down cooling and improve the conditions for keeping warm.
For best function, the silver side should face inwards towards the body. At the same time, insulate against the ground with, for example, a backpack, a sleeping pad or dry clothes.

If possible, get to a sheltered location and insulate your body from cold or wet ground. Pull the bivy bag over your body with the silver-coated side inwards. If two people are using it together, shared body heat can help limit hypothermia.
Ensure there is ventilation and always keep your face and airways clear. Do not use the bivy bag near open flames or sharp objects that could damage the thin material.

It's a good idea to practice unfolding and using your bivy bag before your trip. This will allow you to react more quickly if a real emergency arises.
Store the bivy bag in a dry place and away from sunlight, heat and sharp objects. Check regularly that the material has not been punctured, torn or damaged. A damaged bivy bag should be replaced before the next trip.
