The Ortovox Haute Route 32 is a durable and comfortable touring backpack for longer and more demanding ski tours. The 32-liter volume provides space for avalanche equipment, extra clothing, food, fluids and technical equipment for long day trips or lighter multi-day tours.

The stable O-Flex-2 back system distributes the weight of the pack between the shoulders and hips. Seven compartments, a separate security compartment and a large number of equipment attachments make it easy to organize and transport everything you need on the mountain.

O-Flex-2 for stable weight distribution

The ergonomically shaped O-Flex-2 back system features an S-shaped stabilizer that helps distribute weight evenly between the shoulders and hips. The system provides support when the backpack is heavily packed and is especially suitable for longer trips.

The hip fins are integrated into the back system and hug the body for a stable and comfortable fit. Load control straps and compression straps allow you to bring the pack closer to your back and adjust the volume of the backpack to the contents.

Durable and water-repellent construction

The main material consists of 100% recycled polyamide 420D. Reinforcements in Cordura®, double-layer polyamide 420D Oxford and PU-coated materials provide good resistance to wear and moisture.

The backpack is water-repellent but not completely waterproof. Electronics, extra clothing, and other moisture-sensitive equipment should therefore be packed in waterproof packing bags in case of persistent rain or sleet.

Seven compartments and access via the back

The spacious main compartment can be accessed through the top opening and via the back panel. The back access allows you to access the pack further down without having to empty the entire backpack first.

The bright interior makes it easier to find smaller equipment. The backpack also has a map pocket, hip belt pocket, key holder and a separate security compartment for a shovel and probe.

Separate compartment for avalanche equipment

Shovels, probes and other emergency equipment are stored separately from the main pack in a special security compartment. The equipment is kept organized and quickly accessible in the event of an accident.

The chest strap has an integrated signal whistle and the backpack is equipped with the Ortovox Emergency Card.

Mounts for skis and technical equipment

Skis can be attached either diagonally or on the sides. The wide ski straps are designed for skis with a maximum width of 150 mm. The backpack also has mounts for snowboards or snowshoes.

Ice axe and poles have their own attachment points, while crampons can be mounted on the outside. The rope is attached to the lid and can be removed without opening the main compartment. The integrated helmet net makes it easy to transport a helmet during the ascent.

Fit and back length

The Ortovox Haute Route 32 has a Regular back system and is recommended for a measured back length of approximately 42–50 cm. The back length is measured from the top of the hip bone up to the seventh cervical vertebra.

Adjust the backpack with the pack and winter clothing you normally wear. The hip belt should rest over your hip bones and carry a significant portion of the weight. Then tighten the shoulder straps and load control straps without restricting freedom of movement.

Important safety information

The Ortovox Haute Route 32 is not an avalanche airbag backpack. Avalanche equipment, helmet, hydration system and other equipment are sold separately.

When traveling in avalanche terrain, each person must wear an avalanche transceiver on their body and have their own shovel and probe. The equipment does not replace avalanche knowledge, current avalanche forecasts, careful route selection, or regular rescue training.

Care instructions

Empty all compartments after use and brush off snow and dirt. Clean the backpack by hand with lukewarm water, a soft cloth and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Do not machine wash or tumble dry the backpack.

Allow it to air dry completely with the compartments open, away from direct sunlight and strong heat sources. Regularly check straps, buckles, zippers and equipment attachments.
