The Ortovox Haute Route 40 is a spacious ski backpack for long summit tours, ski mountaineering and multi-day mountain tours. With a 40-liter pack volume, stable carrying system and multiple equipment mounts, it is suitable for those who need to carry both hiking gear and alpine equipment.
The backpack weighs approximately 1,420 grams and has a Regular back length.
The ergonomic O-Flex-2 carrying system features an S-shaped stabilizer that helps distribute weight between the hips and shoulders. The load control straps are used to adjust how close the pack sits to the body.
The hip belt wings connect to the inside of the carrying system for a snug fit around the hips.
The main compartment is accessible both from the top and through the back panel. The back opening makes it easier to access equipment further down in the pack.
A separate safety compartment keeps avalanche equipment organized. Map pockets, hip belt pocket and key holder give smaller accessories their own places, while the bright interior makes it easier to see the contents.
Skis can be attached to the sides in an A-formation or diagonally across the backpack. There are also mounts for snowboards, snowshoes, ice axes, poles and crampons.
The rope attachment on the top allows you to remove or attach the rope without opening the main compartment. The integrated helmet net keeps the helmet on the outside of the backpack when not in use, freeing up space for other packing.

The Haute Route 40 has a Regular back length, which according to Ortovox fits a back length of approximately 42–50 cm .
Measure from the top of the iliac crest to the prominent seventh cervical vertebra at the base of the neck. This measurement is a guide. Please try the backpack on with your pack and check that the hip belt and shoulder straps fit comfortably when you move.

Empty the backpack and shake out any loose dirt after use. If necessary, clean by hand with lukewarm water, a soft cloth or brush and a suitable mild detergent. Avoid chlorine and aggressive detergents which can damage the PU coating. Rinse thoroughly and hang to dry upside down.
