Umara Triathlon Half/Middle Distance Pack is a ready-made energy pack for half/middle distance triathlons (1.9 km swim – 90 km bike – 21.1 km run) . The pack is developed for a total race time of around 5.5 hours and is adapted for races where you can also use hydration and energy stations , such as Ironman races and similar events.
The energy plan provides a high and consistent carbohydrate intake throughout the competition:
Before starting: approximately 90 g carbohydrates
Cycling: about 100–110 g of carbohydrates per hour
Running: approximately 45 g of carbohydrates per hour , supplemented with sports drink/cola from stations
The setup is designed to minimize the risk of energy dips during cycling and ensure that you have sufficient energy when the run begins.
1 × U Intend Shot (60 ml) – focus and energy in connection with start/T1
4 × U Sport portion bags (100 g) – sports drink for cycling and before the start
3 × U Gel (30 g carbohydrates per gel) – energy during running
1 × bottle (approx. 500 ml)
Recommended usage schedule (approx. 5.5 h)
Drink 1 × U Sport (100 g) mixed in 500 ml of water during the last 2 hours before the start
(≈ 90 g carbohydrates before the swim start)
Take 1 × U Intend Shot in T1
Mix 3 × U Sport (100 g) in a bottle
Intake: 100–110 g carbohydrates per hour
Use long water bottles for extra fluids
The sports drink should be finished about 10 minutes before T2.
1 × U Gel every 30 minutes starting after 30 min
The package provides approximately 45 g of carbohydrates per hour.
Supplement every hour with sports drink/cola from the stations (≈ 20–30 g carbohydrates)
If you are out for longer than 5.5 hours : add 1 gel per extra 30 minutes of running or 1 sachet of sports drink per extra hour of cycling .
