The Topo Specter 3 Ms is a lightweight, maximally cushioned and responsive men's running shoe. It's designed for tempo runs, intervals and fast long runs on asphalt, but also works as a dynamic mass training shoe for runners who appreciate a clear rocker and plenty of cushioning.
The third generation features an all-new RevFoam™ ATPU midsole, higher stack height, and revised rocker geometry. Despite the increased cushioning, the shoe weighs just 218 grams in a men's US 9.
The midsole is made from Topo's new RevFoam™ ATPU, a lightweight and resilient foam that provides a responsive and energetic feel through your stride. The material is softer and livelier than the Specter 2 midsole.
The insole is also made from ATPU to reduce weight and provide additional responsiveness directly underfoot. The Specter 3 lacks a carbon fiber plate and instead gets its forward propulsion from the foam and rounded sole geometry.
The revised rocker construction features a distinct curve in both the heel and forefoot. The geometry helps the foot roll through the stride and provides a smooth push-off as the pace increases.
With a stack height of 39mm in the heel and 34mm in the forefoot, the shoe offers plenty of protection and cushioning for longer runs. The drop is 5mm – Topo’s highest drop, but still lower than many traditional running shoes.
The Specter 3 combines Topo's signature spacious toe box with a more enveloping fit across the midfoot and heel, giving your toes room to spread out while keeping your foot securely in place at higher speeds.
The upper is made of a lightweight and breathable mesh that provides a flexible fit without unnecessary weight. The model is neutral and lacks corrective stability support.
The outsole has been redesigned with more durable rubber and better coverage than its predecessor, providing improved grip and durability for regular running on asphalt, tracks, and other hard surfaces.

The Topo Specter 3 has a roomy toe box but is more snug over the midfoot and heel. Topo states that their shoes can run a little small and therefore recommends choosing a half size larger than you normally wear.
Make sure there is enough space in front of your toes when you stand up. Feet can swell during longer runs, making extra length especially important in a shoe for long-distance running.

Brush off loose dirt after use. If necessary, the shoes can be cleaned by hand with lukewarm water, a soft brush and a mild detergent. Avoid washing machines, dryers and direct heat. Remove the insoles and let the shoes air dry at room temperature.
