The OMM Sonic Vest is an extremely lightweight and packable wind vest designed for running and fast mountain adventures where protection against the cold is essential – without compromising freedom of movement. Building on the proven Sonic series, the vest provides effective wind protection over the torso while keeping the arms completely free when the pace increases.

Weighing only 42 grams and able to be packed into its own hidden pocket in the collar , the Sonic Vest can always be with you – whether it's for training sessions, competitions or fast mountain tours.

Lightweight & windproof protection with PointZero™

The vest is made from PointZero fabric , an extremely lightweight windproof material that provides maximum protection in a minimal format. The low weight combined with good breathability, makes the Sonic Vest ideal for when you are moving quickly in varying conditions.

A DWR (Durable Water Repellency) treatment provides extra protection in light rain and gusty weather.

Stable fit even in motion

Elasticated sleeve openings and a pre-tensioned elastic hem with a droptail design keep the vest securely in place, even in technical terrain and during intense movement. Offset shoulder seams reduce the risk of chafing when used with a backpack or vest.

Reflective details and OMM logo increase visibility when running in low light.

How is the OMM Sonic Vest sized?

The Sonic Vest has a body-hugging, performance-oriented fit. The vest should follow the torso and keep the wind out, but not be tight across the chest, back or armpits.

OMM sizes are generally perceived as being more body-hugging than many mainstream leisure and outdoor brands. The model also has elastic arm openings and a pre-tensioned elastic hem that helps the vest stay in place while running.

Our size recommendation

Normally choose the size that corresponds to your chest or bust measurement.

• If the measurement is in the middle of a range, we recommend the current size.
• If you are between two sizes and want to wear the vest over a thin running shirt, the smaller size can provide a more body-hugging fit.
• Choose the larger size if you are near the upper end of the range or want to wear the vest over a midlayer.
• If you have broad shoulders or a larger chest, you should not go down a size.
• The vest should fit close to the body but should not be tight when you breathe deeply or move your arms forward.

Size guide for women

Sonic Vest uses OMM unisex sizes, so women often need to choose a size smaller than in OMM women's specific garments.

For example, a bust measurement of 86–91 cm normally corresponds to a women's size M at OMM, but the same measurement fits within a unisex size S for the Sonic Vest.

Always base your measurements on your actual bust size. Don't automatically choose a smaller size if you want to wear a thicker layer underneath or need more room around the bottom of the vest.

Layers under the vest

Over a thin running shirt: Normally choose your size according to your chest or bust measurement.

Over a base layer or thin Core shirt: Your normal size should usually work, but choose a larger size if you're near the upper end of the range.

Over a heavier midlayer: Consider a size larger so the vest doesn't compress the layer underneath or tighten across the chest.

How do you measure?

Chest or bust: Measure horizontally around the widest part of your upper body. Let your arms hang relaxed.

Waist: Measure around the natural waist without tightening the tape measure.

Body length: Measure barefoot from the floor to the highest point of the head.

Please measure with the same sweater or midlayer that you plan to wear under the vest.

Check the fit

Put on the vest over your planned layer, close the half-length zipper and check that:

• the vest follows the torso without compressing the chest
• you can breathe deeply without the material tightening
• the arm openings fit close without chafing or pinching
• you can bring your arms forward and over your head
• The vest is easy to pull on and off over the head and shoulders
• The bottom edge stays in place when you run or lean forward.
• the extended back provides coverage without bunching
• the material does not flutter over the chest or back

The right size should provide a slim and stable fit over a thin layer, while allowing you to breathe and move freely.
