The OMM Halo+ Jacket Womens is an ultralight, waterproof and breathable shell jacket developed for trail running, mountain running and competitions in varying weather conditions . Weighing only about 120 grams, the jacket can be packed down to just over the size of a tennis ball , making it ideal when the rain jacket is worn at least as often in the pack as on the body.

The jacket is made from Point Zero H20® , a 2-layer waterproof and breathable material , and is equipped with fully taped seams for full weather protection. Despite its low weight, the Halo+ Jacket offers reliable protection in exposed environments, especially in rapid weather changes in the mountains .

The “Plus” version differs from the classic Halo with the addition of two zippered hand pockets , providing increased functionality for storing gloves, a hat, a map or energy during activity. A dynamic droptail provides extra coverage at the back, while extended cuffs with thumbholes help keep the jacket in place in windy conditions.

The women's specific fit is tailored for running and long distances, with a close but flexible cut that doesn't restrict movement. The Halo+ Jacket Womens also meets the requirements of many ultra and mountain race mandatory equipment lists , making it an obvious choice for competition.

How is the OMM Halo+ Jacket Womens sized?

The Halo+ Jacket Womens has a women's-specific, running-specific fit. It sits closer to the body than a traditional shell jacket and is designed to reduce flutter and excess material while running.

The model generally feels true to size when worn over a thin base layer. However, the fit may feel tight if you are close to the upper bust or hip measurements of the size or want to use an insulating mid-layer.

Our size recommendation

  • Choose your normal size if the jacket will primarily be worn over a running shirt or thin base layer.
  • Start primarily from your bust measurement.
  • If your bust and hips correspond to different sizes, we recommend the larger one.
  • If you are between two sizes, the larger size is the safer choice.
  • Go up a size if you want to wear the jacket over, for example, the OMM Core Fleece Jacket (W).
  • Also choose the larger size if your bust measurement is close to the upper limit of the table.
  • Body length is primarily a guide for sleeve and back length. Normally, let bust and hip measurements guide size selection.

How to measure your body

Measure directly against your body or over the layers you plan to wear underneath the jacket. Keep the tape measure horizontal and close to your body without pulling it too tight.

Bust size

Measure around the fullest part of the bust and over the shoulder blades. Let your arms hang loosely at your sides.

Hip circumference

Measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks. Stand with your feet about hip-width apart.

Body length

Measure your height without shoes, from the floor to the highest point of your head.

Check the fit

Try on the jacket with the layers you plan to wear underneath. The correct size means:

  • the zipper can be closed without the material being stretched over the bust,
  • the jacket is not tight over the hips, back or shoulders,
  • there is space for the intended base layer or intermediate layer,
  • you can move your arms forward and over your head without hindrance,
  • the cuffs and thumb grips can be used without the sleeves pulling,
  • the extended back section provides continued coverage when you bend forward,
  • the hood can be used without pulling the jacket up over the shoulders,
  • The jacket is not so roomy that it flutters noticeably while running.

A size that is too small restricts freedom of movement and leaves too little room for layers. A jacket that is too large can flap in the wind and impair the running-friendly fit.
