The Sea To Summit Ultralight Air Sleeping Mat - Small is a compact and ultralight inflatable sleeping mat for adventure racing, hiking, bikepacking and travel in warm conditions. The Small model measures 168 × 55 centimeters and is especially suitable for shorter users or those who prioritize the lowest possible weight and packing volume.
The sleeping pad itself weighs about 345 grams and is five centimeters thick. When packed up, it takes up about as little space as a small water bottle, making this model interesting for trips where every gram and centimeter in your backpack counts.
The mattress is constructed with a single layer of Air Sprung Cells™. The many interconnected air cells act much like individual springs and mold to your body as you lie on the mattress.
The design distributes pressure across more contact points than traditional sleeping pads with a few large longitudinal channels. It provides stable support with low weight and small pack volume. Firmness can be fine-tuned by releasing a small amount of air after inflation.
The Sea To Summit Ultralight Air Sleeping Mat has an R-value of 1.1 and lacks separate insulation material, making it primarily intended for summer use and overnight stays on warm ground.
The mat is not suitable for cold spring and autumn nights, winter use or frozen ground. At lower temperatures, you should choose an insulated sleeping mat with a higher R-value or supplement with a foam mat.
The perceived warmth is also affected by sleeping bag, clothing, ground temperature and individual cold tolerance. The R-value describes the insulation of the sleeping pad against the ground and should not be equated with an exact minimum usage temperature.
The outer fabric is made of lightweight and durable 30D/40D nylon with a ripstop structure. On the inside, a liquid extruded TPU lamination is used, which makes the construction airtight and weldable, and reduces the risk of delamination.
The TPU formula has an antimicrobial treatment that prevents mold growth inside the mat. The outer surface also has a treatment that reduces the material's slipperiness and makes it easier to repair with the included self-adhesive patches.
The multi-function valve provides high air flow for fast inflation and deflation. The valve also has a function to fine-tune the air pressure without losing large amounts of air at once.
The included storage bag also functions as an Airstream Pump Sack. The pump bag fills with ambient air and presses it into the sleeping pad, reducing the amount of moisture from exhaled air entering the structure.
The PillowLock™ system consists of small attachment points on the sleeping pad that can be used with compatible Sea to Summit Aeros pillows. The system helps keep the pillow in place as you move throughout the night.
Cushion is not included and other cushion models may lack the corresponding attachment surface.

Check the ground and remove sharp rocks, twigs and other objects before rolling out the sleeping pad. It is recommended to use a tent floor, footprint or other ground protection.
Connect the Airstream pump bag to the valve, fill the bag with air and press the air into the sleeping pad. Repeat until the pad is inflated. Then lie down on the pad and use the fine adjustment on the valve to release air until the firmness feels comfortable.
Avoid inflating the mat unnecessarily hard. The volume of air increases as the temperature rises, so check the pressure if a fully inflated sleeping pad is left in a warm tent.
Wipe the sleeping pad with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Do not machine wash or tumble dry the pad. Allow it to dry completely before packing away.
If a small hole occurs, the supplied self-adhesive patches can be used on a clean, dry surface. Regularly check the valve, seams and material for damage.
Store the sleeping pad in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, open flames and strong heat. Avoid leaving it inflated in a hot car or closed tent for extended periods of time.
