The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Bag 13L is an ultra-light and waterproof dry bag for organizing clothing, sleeping gear and other accessories inside a backpack, bike bag or suitcase.

The thirteen-liter model weighs only about 40 grams and measures approximately 53 × 22 centimeters. The size provides space for, for example, underwear, a change of clothes, a light reinforcement garment or other soft equipment without adding unnecessary weight to the pack.

Ultralight 30D Ultra-Sil Cordura

The stuff sack is made of 30D Ultra-Sil® Cordura® nylon. The strong Cordura fibers are woven in a thin ripstop pattern that combines low weight with good tear resistance.

The exterior is siliconized to repel moisture and create a slippery surface that slides easily between other packing materials. The interior has a waterproof polyurethane coating that allows the seams to be taped. The semi-transparent material helps you identify the contents without opening the bag.

Taped seams and 2,000 mm water column

The Ultra-Sil material has a stated water column of over 2,000 millimeters. The seams are double-stitched, reinforced at particularly stressed points and sealed with waterproof tape.

The construction protects the contents from rain, snow, condensation and other moisture inside the backpack. However, the thin material is more susceptible to punctures and heavy abrasion than Sea to Summit's more robust drybags. Therefore, avoid contact with sharp objects, rocks and other rough surfaces.

Roll closure with Field Repair Buckle

The opening has a reinforced Hypalon edge that does not absorb and transport moisture into the pack. For a secure closure, the edge should be rolled at least three full turns before the buckle is closed.

The replaceable Field Repair Buckle is 15 millimeters wide and has two stainless steel pins. If the buckle becomes damaged, it can be replaced without the need to split or re-sew the strap.

Versatile size for hiking and travel

The 13-liter volume is great when the eight-liter model is too small but you don't need a full-sized pack. The cylindrical shape and round bottom make the bag easy to place both vertically and horizontally in a backpack.

The slippery exterior makes packing easier when multiple bags need to be placed close together. Different colors can also be used to create a simple color-coding system for clothes, food, and other equipment.

For internal storage

The Ultra-Sil Dry Bag is primarily designed for internal storage in backpacks and other bags. It is not intended for paddling, general boating use, or situations where the dry bag may be submerged.

The material and taped seams are waterproof, but the roll closure is not pressure-proof. Electronics and other particularly moisture-sensitive equipment should therefore be double-packed or placed in a waterproof hard case.

Use

Place the equipment in the bag, leaving enough room to roll the opening. Squeeze out any excess air, lay the sides of the opening evenly together, and roll the Hypalon edge at least three full turns. Then snap the buckle shut.

Avoid overfilling the bag, as this can make it difficult to roll the opening properly. Wrap sharp and angular objects separately so they are not directly against the thin material.

Cleaning and storage

Wipe the packing bag with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Do not use bleach, solvents, machine wash or tumble dry.

Allow the bag to dry completely with the opening rolled out before packing it away. Store it in a dry place and away from prolonged sunlight, open flames and strong heat. Regularly check the material, seams and roll closure for small holes or other damage.
