The Ortovox Helmet Net Adjustable is a lightweight and adjustable helmet net that allows you to carry your helmet on the outside of your backpack. It frees up space in your pack and keeps your helmet easily accessible during peak tours, climbing, mountaineering and other activities where the helmet is worn for part of the trip.
The net weighs only 28 grams and is made of elastic mesh with 4-way stretch. The construction can be adapted to different helmet types and sizes, such as ski, climbing and cycling helmets.
The elastic material conforms to the helmet and helps keep it stable against the backpack. The length of the net can be adjusted to fit different helmet sizes and backpack designs.
Four practical hooks are used to attach the net to the backpack's material loops or designated attachment points. The helmet can then be placed between the net and the backpack and tightened by adjusting the size of the net.
Ortovox describes the Helmet Net Adjustable as compatible with all types of backpacks. However, in order for the net to be mounted correctly, the backpack needs to have four appropriately placed and sufficiently stable material loops or attachment points.
Therefore, check the backpack's construction and the distance between the attachment points before use. Backpacks that lack suitable loops cannot be mounted in a safe and stable manner.
The material consists of 69 percent nylon and 31 percent elastane. The combination creates a durable and flexible mesh that can be stretched both lengthwise and crosswise.
When not in use, the helmet net takes up very little space and can be easily stored in your backpack. The black color Black Raven fits discreetly with most backpacks.

Place the helmet against the outside of the backpack and pull the net over the helmet. Attach the four hooks to sturdy material loops or designated attachment points on the backpack.
Adjust the length of the net so that the helmet is held tightly to the backpack without overloading the material or attachment points. Check that all hooks are securely attached before you start moving.
The helmet net is intended for transporting and storing a helmet. It does not replace the protective function of the helmet – always wear the helmet on your head when the activity or terrain requires it.
Regularly check that the net, hooks and backpack attachment points are undamaged. Do not use the net if the material is torn, the elasticity has deteriorated or any hook is damaged.
Brush or shake off loose dirt after use. If necessary, the net can be cleaned gently with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Allow to air dry completely and keep away from high heat, solvents and sharp objects.
