The Lifesystems Survival Shelter 2 is a robust and quick-set-up emergency shelter for two people. The windbag creates a protected microclimate in the event of strong winds, rain, snow or an unexpected break, helping users to conserve body heat when the weather deteriorates.

It is suitable as safety equipment for hiking, skiing, mountaineering, orienteering and other activities where it may be far to the nearest building or permanent wind shelter.

Protection for two people

The Survival Shelter 2 seats two people and measures 140 x 90 x 45 cm when folded up. People sit on the integrated waterproof seat panels and pull the shelter over themselves, which helps create a warmer and more protected environment.

The windbag works both in emergencies and during planned breaks in bad weather. However, it is not a substitute for a tent, sleeping bag or insulating clothing for longer stays.

Robust and weatherproof construction

The durable, PU-coated material has a water column of 5,000 mm. Fully taped seams and waterproof seat panels provide effective protection against ground moisture and precipitation.

An integrated window lets in light and allows for a view out, while the ventilation opening helps with air circulation. Reflective strips on the top improve visibility in the dark and bad weather.

Easy to carry and use

When not in use, the cover packs away into the integrated storage bag with drawstring closure. The pack size is approximately 20 × 10 × 10 cm and weighs approximately 345 grams, making it easy to carry in a hiking or ski backpack.

Use

Remove the cover from the storage bag and place the opening downwards. Sit on the waterproof seat panels and pull the cover over your bodies. Make sure the ventilation opening is clear and if possible place the opening in a sheltered position from the wind.

In the event of serious injury, suspected hypothermia or other emergency situation, the emergency services should be contacted. In Sweden, call 112.
