The Lifesystems Dual Action Firestarter is a compact and weatherproof fire starter for hiking, camping and outdoor activities. The combination of a ferrocerium rod and a magnesium rod gives you both powerful sparks and easily flammable starting material in the same tool.
The integrated stainless steel scraper is used to scrape magnesium shavings and create sparks with a temperature of up to 2,980°C. This makes the fire starter particularly useful when there is limited access to natural ignition material.
The magnesium rod is used to create small, easily flammable shavings. When sparks from the ferrocerium rod hit the shavings, they ignite quickly and help you light dry kindling.
The ferrocerium rod is designed for up to 8,000 strokes and works in a variety of weather conditions and altitudes. It can also be used to ignite dry, fibrous kindling and compatible gas stoves.
The foldable design protects the rods during transport and makes the fire starter easy to carry in your backpack or survival kit. The durable housing is made of ABS plastic and has a lanyard loop for easy storage.

First scrape a small amount of magnesium shavings onto dry, fine kindling. Then pull the scraper firmly along the ferrocerium rod and direct the sparks towards the magnesium shavings. Once the material has ignited, carefully build on with small, dry twigs.
Always use the product outdoors or in an environment intended for burning. Check current fire bans, keep away from flammable objects and extinguish the fire completely after use. Keep out of reach of children.
