Cocoon MummyLiner Thermolite Performer is a warming, moisture-wicking and quick-drying sleeping bag liner for hiking, camping and travel. The mummy-shaped construction fits easily into most mummy sleeping bags while helping to keep the sleeping bag's inner fabric cleaner.

The liner measures 220 x 80/60 centimeters and weighs approximately 280 grams. It is made of 100 percent Thermolite® EcoMade – a recycled polyester material with hollow fibers that bind insulating air and transport moisture away from the skin.

Thermolite EcoMade with hollow fibers

Thermolite® EcoMade is engineered to provide lightweight insulation, even in damp conditions. The material's hollow fibers trap air and create an insulating layer around the body.

Moisture is transported from the skin to the outside of the material, where it can evaporate more easily. This contributes to a drier and more comfortable sleeping climate during nights when temperature and humidity fluctuate.

According to the manufacturer, Thermolite dries faster than many other insulating materials and significantly faster than cotton, making the liner practical for multi-day trips where drying equipment is limited.

Up to 7°C extra heat

Cocoon states that the MummyLiner Thermolite Performer can increase the thermal insulation of the sleeping system by up to approximately 7°C. The liner can therefore be used to make an existing sleeping bag more versatile when the temperature drops.

The value is a laboratory-based benchmark and does not mean that the sleeping bag receives a new certified temperature rating. The actual heat gain is affected by factors such as the fit of the sleeping bag, sleeping pad, clothing, humidity and individual cold tolerance.

The liner should be seen as a supplementary layer and not as a replacement for a sleeping bag that is adapted to the expected temperature.

Mummy-shaped and flexible fit

The tapered shape is 80 centimeters wide at the torso and 60 centimeters at the foot end. The construction reduces the amount of excess material and fits well inside a mummy sleeping bag without creating unnecessary folds.

The stretchy material follows the body's movements and provides better freedom of movement than the dimensions might suggest. The wide opening makes the liner easier to get in and out of, even though it lacks a zipper.

Adjustable hood and shaped foot area

The head end can be pulled together into a hood using the drawstring. On chilly nights, the opening can be reduced to limit heat loss around the head and shoulders.

The specially shaped foot section creates more space for the feet and contributes to a smoother fit inside the sleeping bag. Double seams reinforce the construction in exposed areas.

Protects the sleeping bag

When the liner is used between the body and the sleeping bag, it captures some of the moisture, dirt and skin oils that would otherwise reach the sleeping bag's inner fabric and insulation.

The liner is much easier to wash than an entire sleeping bag. Regular use can therefore reduce the need to wash the sleeping bag and help the filling retain its volume and function for longer.

Air and dry the liner after each night. Do not pack it damp for extended periods. In warm weather, it can also be used as a stand-alone thin travel sheet, but it is not a temperature-rated sleeping bag.

Care instructions

Machine wash at 30°C and wash colours separately. Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach and fabric softener.

According to Cocoon, the liner can be dry cleaned, ironed and tumble dried on a low temperature. Always follow the care instructions on the product label, as washing symbols should take precedence over general recommendations.
