Crispi Svalbard BC is a warm and stable ski touring boot for cold winter tours, sledding and demanding mountain conditions. The model has a regular fit, GORE-TEX membrane and an integrated Cordura gaiter. The leather construction gradually molds to the foot.

What is the size of Crispi Svalbard BC?

Svalbard BC is stated to have a normal fit. Therefore, start with the EU size that corresponds to your measured foot length. There is usually no reason to automatically go up a full size.

The leather of the ski boot molds to the foot as it is used and can become more flexible over the ankle and forefoot. However, it does not become longer, so the toes should have enough room even at the first try-on.

The integrated gaiter and robust construction mean that the Svalbard can feel more robust than a lighter ski touring boot. This does not necessarily mean that the size is smaller.

If you are between two sizes

Try both sizes first if possible. The larger size usually fits best if you:

• has a foot length between two values in the table
• use a thicker technical winter sock
• have a high instep or need more volume
• planning expeditions with special sock or vapor barrier systems

Don't choose a larger boot just to create extra warmth. Too much room can cause heel movement, poor control and chafing. The fit should keep the heel stable while allowing the toes to move freely.

How to measure your foot

1. Put on the technical sock that you intend to use in the ski boot.
2. Place a piece of paper on the floor with the short side against a wall.
3. Place your heel lightly against the wall and put weight on your foot.
4. Mark in front of the longest toe.
5. Measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
6. Repeat with the other foot, starting from the longer measurement.

It's best to measure your feet in the afternoon or evening, when they are normally at their largest.

Socks and fit in the cold

A thin to medium quality technical sock is often a better choice than several thick layers. A combination that is too tight can restrict blood circulation and make your feet colder.

If the boot is to be used with extra thick socks, liners or vapor barrier, it should be tested with exactly the same system. Do not add extra centimeters beyond the size chart without also checking heel grip and ski control.

Check that the fit is correct

With the ski boot laced up and the gaiter closed:

• the heel sits firmly without any obvious play
• toes can move
• your toes don't hit the front edge when you bend your knees
• the ankle is held in place without hard pressure
• the gaiter can be closed without pinching the ankle or lower leg

Please try the boots indoors for a longer period of time before use.

Which bindings fit Crispi Svalbard BC?

Crispi Svalbard BC is compatible with the Rottefella BC Manual, BC Auto and BC Magnum, commonly referred to as the NNN BC system.

The ski boot does not fit standard NNN, Prolink, Turnamic, SNS, Xplore or 75 mm bindings. Therefore, always check the binding system on the skis before purchasing.
