Hestra Gravita Merino Liner 5-finger is a flexible and versatile liner mitten in merino wool , designed to provide extra warmth and high comfort in chilly conditions. It works great as a warming inner layer under a thicker thumb or five-finger glove , but can also be used on its own for hiking, running and other training in cooler weather.
The mitten is sewn from a supple merino wool jersey mixed with polyamide for increased durability. The brushed inside provides effective insulation and a soft feel against the skin, while the merino wool regulates temperature and transports moisture away. The result is a glove that keeps hands dry and pleasantly warm even during active use.
With a touch function on the thumb, you can easily use your mobile phone or GPS without taking off the mitten. A practical puller at the wrist makes it easy to put on, and the material is machine washable for easy care. The model is also available in a thumb version.

Perfect for cool weather and layering systems
Hestra Gravita Merino Liner 5-finger is a thin and flexible base liner in a merino wool blend. It can be used as a warming layer under an outer glove or on its own for running, hiking and other activities in cool weather.
Unlike a form-fitting replacement liner, Gravita Merino should sit close to the body, directly against the hand.
| Hestra size | Hand circumference |
|---|---|
| 6 | approximately 152 mm |
| 7 | approximately 178 mm |
| 8 | approximately 203 mm |
| 9 | approximately 229 mm |
| 10 | approximately 254 mm |
| 11 | approximately 279 mm |
The measurements are approximate. Measure both hands and choose the size based on the larger hand.
If you don't have a soft tape measure, you can use a string and then measure the length of the string with a ruler.
The liner glove should follow the shape of the hand without being too tight. The material should lie smoothly over the palm and fingers, without loose folds that can chafe or bunch up under the outer glove.
Your fingertips should reach into the liner, but not be pressed against the seams. You should be able to open your hand, make a fist, and spread your fingers without the material being tight between your fingers or over your knuckles.
The touch surfaces of the index finger and thumb should be over the fingertips for the touchscreen function to work as well as possible.
Normally, choose the larger size if your hand measurement is between two sizes. The liner should fit snugly, but a size that is too small can be tight over the knuckles, pull between the fingers, and restrict movement.
Don't choose a smaller liner just to fit into an already tight outer glove. If the whole combination becomes too tight, you'll need a roomier outer glove or a thinner liner instead.
If Gravita Merino is to be used as an inner layer, you need to try the entire combination:
The outer glove should have enough volume for both the hand and the liner. An extra layer that fits too tightly can make the hand colder by compressing the insulation and impairing circulation.
Your regular Hestra size is also a good starting point for the Gravita Merino Liner. For example, if you have a Hestra size 8 in a roomy shell glove, you can start with a size 8 liner.
However, it is not a requirement that the size numbers are always identical. Gravita Merino is a stand-alone baseliner and is not attached to the outer glove. The fit must therefore be assessed based on both your hand and the space in the outer glove in question.
The right size means that:
The Gravita Merino Liner is a thin inner glove and does not replace a custom-fit, removable main liner with Velcro fastening. However, it can be used as an extra layer in a sufficiently spacious outer glove.
The liner is not waterproof or windproof. In case of precipitation, strong wind or colder winter conditions, it needs to be combined with a protective outer glove.
