The OMM Core Fleece Mitt is an ultra-lightweight, insulating fleece mitt developed for high-intensity activities in cold and exposed environments . Designed to be worn alone in dry conditions or paired with a waterproof shell mitten when the weather is windy and wet – a flexible solution from valley to peak.

The Core Fleece Mitt is part of the OMM Core range , which is based on a new approach to active insulation . It is made entirely of PrimaLoft® ACTIVE 125 g/m² , where synthetic insulation fibres are woven directly into an open mesh material . The construction creates an exceptionally high insulation volume to weight ratio by trapping air close to the skin, while the open structure allows for almost free air permeability .

This combination means that the Core Fleece Mitt provides effective warmth when the intensity is low , but quickly releases excess heat when the heart rate increases. When you put on a thin shell over the mittens, the airflow is blocked, giving a very high warmth-to-weight ratio . This way, you can regulate your temperature by adjusting just the shell , rather than having to remove the insulation.

Like all OMM products, the Core Fleece Mitt is designed to perform even when wet . PrimaLoft® ACTIVE insulates when wet and has excellent moisture transport , ensuring the mittens dry quickly and don't get cold when the intensity varies.

Weighing only about 30 grams per pair, they take up minimal space in your pack , making them perfect for trail running, mountaineering, alpine climbing and competitions where every gram counts.

The OMM Core Fleece Mitt is a unisex insulated mitten with a stretchy fit. It can be worn alone in dry conditions or paired with a shell mitten, such as the OMM Kamleika Overmitt, when you need protection from wind and rain.

Size chart

*The measurement refers to the approximate product width when the mitten is lying flat. It is not the circumference of the hand.

How is the OMM Core Fleece Mid in size?

The Core Fleece Mitt has a snug and stretchy fit. The mitten should fit close to the hand but not so tight that the insulation material is compressed or that finger movement is restricted.

The model has an extended cuff that covers the wrist and makes it easier to combine the mitten with a jacket or shell mitten.

Our size recommendation

  • Choose your normal glove size for a close and active fit.
  • If you are between two sizes, we recommend the larger one.
  • Choose the larger size if you have long fingers, wide hands or want to use a thin liner glove underneath.
  • The mitten should not be tight over the knuckles or press against the fingertips.
  • If you combine it with the OMM Kamleika Overmitt, the same size in both models is normally a good starting point.
  • If you use a fleece mitten from another brand, it should have enough space so as not to compress the fleece mitten.

How do you measure?

Since the size chart shows the product dimensions of the mittens, you can most safely compare them with a pair of mittens that already fit you:

  1. Lay the existing mitten flat without stretching the material.
  2. Measure the width across the widest part of the palm, not including the thumb.
  3. Compare the measurement with the size chart.
  4. Please measure both gloves and use the larger measurement.

Check the fit

The right size means that:

  • the fingertips are not pressed against the outermost part of the mitten,
  • you can open and close your hand without hindrance,
  • the material is not tight over the knuckles,
  • The cuff covers the wrist properly,
  • Any scraper can be pulled over without compressing the insulation.

A fit that is too tight can reduce both warmth and freedom of movement.
