SiS 10K Race Pack brings together sports nutrition for training and competition in a practical package tailored for runners who focus on 5–10 kilometers, time trials and other high-intensity activities.
The package contains three different product categories:
HYDRO+ electrolyte drink
GO Isotonic Energy Gel
GO Energy + Caffeine Gel
Also included is a 600 ml SiS Wide Neck Water Bottle . Each product category is delivered as a 6-pack, meaning the package contains 18 portion-packed products and a sports bottle.
The regular GO Isotonic gels provide 22g of carbohydrates per gel from maltodextrin. The formula is isotonic and can be consumed without having to drink water at the same time.
GO Energy + Caffeine is based on the same easy-to-flow gel format and also provides 22g of carbohydrates per gel . Cola and Berry typically contain 75mg of caffeine , while the Double Espresso option contains 150mg of caffeine per gel .
HYDRO+ is mixed with 500 ml of water and provides 1,576 mg of electrolytes from sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium and magnesium. The product also contains vitamins C, B6 and B12.
The package contains more products than would normally be used during a single 10K race. The idea is that you will also be able to test products and practice your setup during interval workouts, tempo runs and longer workouts.

|---|---|---|
| GO Isotonic Energy Gel | 6 | 22 g carbohydrates |
| GO Energy + Caffeine Gel | 6 | 22 g carbohydrates and 75 or 150 mg caffeine |

The twelve gels contain a total of:
6 caffeine-free gels × 22 g = 132 g carbohydrates
6 caffeine gels × 22 g = 132 g carbohydrates
Total = 264 g carbohydrates
The amount of caffeine in the entire package depends on the flavor chosen and should not be seen as a recommended amount to use at the same time.
SiS GO Isotonic Energy Gel is a light-flowing energy gel that provides 22 g of carbohydrates per serving . Maltodextrin is used as the sole carbohydrate source.
The isotonic consistency means that the gel can be taken without additional water at the time of ingestion. The separate fluid requirement still needs to be adjusted according to activity, temperature and individual sweat loss.
22 g carbohydrates per gel
Maltodextrin as a carbohydrate source
Isotonic and easy-flowing formula
Can be taken without additional water
No added caffeine
Easy to carry in a pocket or running belt
Suitable before or during intense exercise
SiS generally recommends 1–3 or more gels per hour to achieve a carbohydrate intake of around 60–90g per hour. For a shorter 10km race, the need may be significantly lower and depends on factors such as finish time, previous meal and what you have trained for.
SiS GO Energy + Caffeine Gel combines carbohydrates with caffeine. Each gel provides 22g of carbohydrates . Cola and Berry contain 75mg of caffeine, while Double Espresso contains 150mg of caffeine.
SiS states that the caffeine gel can be used approximately 30 minutes before intense physical activity or later during longer activities when you want to add caffeine.
Combine energy and caffeine
Using caffeine before an intense race
Plan a caffeine gel separately from other gels
Test caffeine during tempo runs or intervals
Have a caffeine alternative for the later part of the race
Add up caffeine from all sources, for example:
Coffee
Energy drink
Other energy gels
Caffeine tablets
PWO and dietary supplements
High caffeine content. Not recommended for children or pregnant or breastfeeding people.
The caffeine gel should be tested during training before use on race day. Double Espresso contains twice as much caffeine as Cola and Berry and therefore requires extra careful planning.
SiS HYDRO+ is a pre-packaged electrolyte powder that is mixed with 500 ml of cold water . Each serving provides a total of 1,576 mg of electrolytes .
The electrolytes consist of:
| Electrolyte | Per serving |
|---|---|
| Sodium | 350mg |
| Chloride | 750 mg |
| Potassium | 300mg |
| Calcium | 120 mg |
| Magnesium | 56 mg |
| Total | 1,576 mg |
HYDRO+ also contains:
80 mg of vitamin C
0.42 mg vitamin B6
0.75 µg vitamin B12
Vitamin C contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism. Vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Fill the bottle with 500 ml of cold water.
Empty one sachet into the bottle.
Close the bottle and shake well.
Wait until the powder has dissolved.
It is best to consume the drink immediately after mixing.
HYDRO+ is primarily an electrolyte product and does not contain the same amount of carbohydrates as a regular sports drink. Energy from gels or food therefore needs to be planned separately.
The included SiS bottle holds 600 ml and has a wide opening that makes it easier to fill and mix powder.
The bottle has:
Volume of 600 ml
Wide opening
Leak-proof valve
BPA-free construction
The volume provides enough space for a HYDRO+ serving mixed with 500 ml of water while still leaving room to shake the drink properly.
The SiS 10K Race Pack is primarily intended to be used both during the training period and on race day.
Test the products below:
Tempo pass
Threshold pass
Longer interval workouts
Progressive running sessions
Long pass
Competitive training sessions
Use the exercise to find out:
If you need energy before or during your workout
If you tolerate caffeine while running
What amount of caffeine is right for you?
What flavors do you prefer?
How close to the start can a gel be taken?
How much fluid you need
If you want to carry gel or use energy station
Don't try a completely new caffeine or energy regimen on race day.
The Science in Sports 10K guide shows different setups depending on the estimated finish time. The examples below are manufacturer guidelines and should be adjusted according to individual tolerance, previous meal and training background.
SiS shows the following example:
| Time | Product |
|---|---|
| Start | GO Isotonic Energy Gel and approximately 150 ml of water |
| 20 minutes | GO Energy + Caffeine Gel and approximately 150 ml of water |
| 40 minutes | GO Isotonic Energy Gel and approximately 200 ml of water |
The recipe provides a total of 66 g of carbohydrates, 75 mg of caffeine and approximately 500 ml of water .
SiS also shows a shorter layout:
| Time | Product |
|---|---|
| About 10 minutes | GO Energy + Caffeine Gel and approximately 200 ml of water |
| Approximately 30 minutes | GO Isotonic Energy Gel and approximately 200 ml of water |
It provides a total of 44 g of carbohydrates, 75 mg of caffeine and approximately 400 ml of water when a 75 mg caffeine gel is used.
These amounts may be more than some runners need or tolerate during a 10K race. Many may prefer a gel before the start or a smaller amount during the race. The energy plan should always be tested in training.
With a short finish time, a well-planned meal before the race may be sufficient for many runners. A caffeine gel before the start can be used by those who have tested and tolerate caffeine.
There is often limited time to consume multiple gels during the race itself.
A gel before the start or early in the race can be a simple setup. A second gel can be used later by runners who have tested a higher carbohydrate intake.
Runners who expect a longer finish time may benefit more from planning one or more energy intakes. Adjust the timing according to water availability and how the stomach reacts at race pace.
Although a 10K race is shorter than a half marathon or marathon, it is often run at a high intensity. Products that work during leisurely running may not always work as well at race pace.
Therefore, try:
Same product and taste
Same amount of caffeine
Same time before start
Similar breakfast or meal
The same approximate competition intensity
Similar amount of liquid
Caffeine can affect the stomach, heart rate, sleep and perceived exertion differently between individuals.
10-kilometer race
5-kilometer race
Time trial
Threshold pass
Interval training
Progressive long sessions
Trail running
Shorter trail races
HYROX and functional training
Cycling and time trial races
Training camp
Runners who want to test caffeine and energy before a race
The package includes:
6 caffeine-free energy gels
6 caffeinated energy gels
6 HYDRO+ bags
1 sports bottle
This means that there is enough for several training sessions and at least one competition. The exact length of time the package will last depends on how many products you use at each event.
Don't use all the gels in one run just because they are included in the pack. The six caffeine gels are primarily intended to be used and tested on separate occasions.
