The Montane Men's Tenacity Nano Hooded Softshell Jacket is Montane's lightest ever hooded softshell jacket , designed for fast and technical mountain adventures where freedom of movement, light weight and breathability are absolutely essential. Weighing in at just 275 grams (size M) , the jacket is designed for users who move quickly in demanding terrain – from climbing and alpine hiking to fastpacking and summit touring.

The jacket is constructed from GRANITE STRETCH Nano , a super lightweight double-woven softshell material that combines very high abrasion resistance (20,000+ abrasion resistance) with exceptional 4-way stretch and fast recovery . This means the jacket follows your body's movements without restricting you, even during technical climbs or intense changes of pace.

The fabric is treated with a PFC-free (C0) DWR treatment , which provides protection against light rain and wind while maintaining the garment's excellent breathability. This makes Tenacity Nano perfect as an outer layer in dry, cool conditions or as a mid-layer under a shell in harsher weather.

The minimalist construction with offset seams minimizes bulk, increases comfort under a harness or backpack, and improves the durability of the garment. The bonded hood is low-profile and works well under a helmet, while the bonded zipper placket provides extra comfort against the chin and improved packability. The jacket is equipped with harness and backpack compatible YKK pockets , making it fully adapted for alpine use.

The fit is Trim Fit – body-hugging and athletic – which delivers high performance during high-intensity activities without feeling restrictive. The Tenacity Nano is simply built for speed, precision and comfort in the mountains .

The Montane Men's Tenacity Nano Hooded Softshell Jacket features Trim Fit – a body-hugging, technical fit for fast-paced activities. The stretchy material allows for good range of motion, but the model has a relatively slim cut and a slightly shorter hem.

The jacket is primarily designed to be worn over a base layer or a thin mid layer. When choosing a size, use your chest measurement as the primary guide.

The measurements in the table are body measurements in centimeters, not the jacket's finished garment measurements.

How do you measure?

Chest: Measure around the widest part of your chest. Hold the measuring tape horizontally and let your arms hang relaxed.

Waist: Measure around the natural waist without tightening the tape measure.

Sleeve length: Measure from the center of the neck, over the shoulder and down the arm to the wrist. Keep the arm slightly bent when measuring.

Please take measurements over the base layer or thin midlayer that you plan to use under the jacket.

What size should I choose?

The chest width is the most important measurement for this jacket.

  • Choose your size according to the table if you want Montane's intended close-fitting and technical fit.
  • Choose the larger size if you are between two sizes, have broad shoulders or prefer a looser fit.
  • Go up a size if you want to use a thicker midlayer under the jacket.
  • If your bust and waist correspond to different sizes, you should normally choose the larger size.
  • Check the sleeve length if you have particularly long or short arms.

The four-way stretch of the material allows for freedom of movement but does not create the same storage space as a roomier softshell jacket. The jacket should not be tight across the chest, shoulders or arms when you reach forward or raise your arms above your head.
