The OMM Halo+ Jacket is an ultralight, waterproof and breathable shell jacket , developed for trail running, mountain running and fast adventures in changing weather . The jacket is designed for situations where the rain jacket is worn as much in the pack as on the body , and can be packed down to just over the size of a tennis ball .

Made from Point Zero H20® , a 2-layer waterproof and breathable fabric , the Halo+ Jacket features fully taped seams for reliable protection from rain and wind. Despite its light weight, the jacket is a capable mountain shell , suitable for tough conditions when the weather changes quickly.

The “Plus” version of the Halo differs from the original with the addition of two zippered hand pockets , providing extra functionality for storing gloves, a hat, a map or energy while on the move. The jacket also features a dynamic droptail for better coverage at the back, and extended cuffs with thumbholes for comfort and stability in windy conditions.

The Halo+ Jacket also meets the requirements of many FRA, ultra and mountain race mandatory equipment lists , making it a popular choice among competitive runners and fast-and-light athletes.

The measurements in the table are body measurements, not measurements of the jacket itself.

How is the OMM Halo+ Jacket sized?

The Halo+ Jacket has a running-specific fit that sits closer to the body than a traditional shell jacket. The model generally feels normal in size for a technical running jacket, but may feel slightly narrow if you are near the upper measurement of the size or are using a thicker midlayer.

The jacket has extended cuffs with thumb grips and a longer back. It should therefore provide good coverage even when the arms move, without being tight across the shoulders or chest.

Our size recommendation

  • Choose your normal size if the jacket will primarily be worn over a thin base layer.
  • Start primarily from your chest circumference.
  • If you are between two sizes, we recommend the larger one.
  • Choose the larger size if your chest measurement is near the upper limit of the table.
  • Go up a size if you want to wear the jacket over an insulating midlayer, such as the OMM Core Fleece Jacket.
  • If your bust and waist correspond to different sizes, you should choose the larger one.
  • Body length is primarily a guide for sleeve and back length. Normally, let chest circumference guide size selection.
  • For women, the women's specific Halo+ model is primarily recommended. When choosing this men's/unisex version, a smaller size may often be a better fit.

How to measure your body

Measure directly against your body or over the layers you plan to wear underneath the jacket. Keep the tape measure horizontal and close to your body without pulling it too tight.

Chest circumference

Measure around the widest part of your chest, under your arms and above your shoulder blades. Let your arms hang loosely.

Waist circumference

Measure around your natural waist, usually where your upper body is at its narrowest. Do not tighten your stomach or pull the tape measure tight.

Body length

Measure your height without shoes, from the floor to the highest point of your head.

Check the fit

Try on the jacket with the layers you plan to wear underneath. The correct size means:

  • the zipper can be closed without the material being stretched across the chest,
  • there is space for the intended base layer or intermediate layer,
  • you can move your arms forward and over your head without hindrance,
  • the cuffs and thumb grips do not pull or restrict the hands,
  • the back section provides continued coverage when you bend forward,
  • the hood can be used without pulling the jacket up over the shoulders,
  • The jacket doesn't feel overly roomy or flutter when you run.

A size that is too small restricts freedom of movement and leaves too little room for layers, while a jacket that is too large can flap in the wind and compromise the running-friendly fit.
