The OMM Core Hoodie is a groundbreaking midlayer for high-intensity activity , developed for mountains, mountains and long runs where traditional fleece often gets too warm. It is part of OMM's unique Core series , which is built entirely on PrimaLoft® Active , an advanced synthetic material that provides the warmth of fleece - at less than half the weight and significantly better ventilation .

The insulation consists of synthetic plumes woven directly through an open, stretchy mesh material . This construction creates large air pockets that effectively trap body heat, while the almost total air permeability means that excess heat can be quickly vented away when the pace increases. The result is a garment that can be worn continuously during movement , where temperature regulation is instead achieved by adjusting a thin shell on top.

The Core Hoodie uses the lightest version of PrimaLoft® Active (75 g/m²) , making it the most breathable and lightest hoodie in the Core family . It works equally well as a very warm first layer in extreme cold , as a technical midlayer under a wind or rain jacket in high-intensity conditions. When combined with an ultra-light windbreaker – such as the OMM Sonic Windproof – it quickly transforms into a highly effective insulation system with extreme warmth-to-weight performance .

The garment insulates even when wet and has very good moisture transport, which means you dry quickly and avoid getting cold during breaks or rapid weather changes. The soft, rolled hood functions as both a hood and a warming collar , and the flatlock seams are pulled away from the shoulders for maximum comfort under a backpack or running vest.

Weighing in at around 115 grams, the Core Hoodie is one of the most effective ways to add warmth to a fast and lightweight system , without risking overheating or unnecessary pack weight.

How is the OMM Core Hoodie Ms sized?

The Core Hoodie has an OMM Fitted fit , which means it sits close to the body. The body-hugging construction reduces excess material and helps the PrimaLoft Active material wick moisture effectively during activity.

OMM clothing generally leans towards the slimmer and more performance-oriented side. The garment should be able to be worn over a thin first layer, but is not designed as a roomy everyday hoodie.

Fit perception

There are limited verified customer reviews that specifically address sizing. One specialist retailer describes the model as fitting smaller than many other brands and recommends considering a larger size.

This is in line with OMM's official classification as Fitted. Therefore, don't automatically choose the same letter size as in a roomy outdoor or everyday garment.

Our size recommendation

  • Choose your size according to your chest circumference, as this is the most important measurement for tops.
  • Choose your size according to the chart for a close and performance-oriented fit.
  • If your chest measurement is between two sizes, you should choose the larger one.
  • Go up a size if you want to wear the hoodie over a thicker base layer.
  • Also go up a size if you have broad shoulders or prefer more room to move.
  • Choose the smaller size only if you want to wear the garment directly against your skin or over a very thin base layer.
  • Check that your windbreaker or shell jacket still accommodates the hoodie without compressing the insulation.

Example

If you have a chest circumference of 98 cm, size M will fit according to the table. Choose L if you want a looser fit or plan to wear a thicker layer underneath.

If you have a chest circumference of 102 cm, you are right between M and L. We then recommend L for better freedom of movement.

How to measure your body

Chest circumference

Measure around the widest part of your chest. Keep the measuring tape horizontal and relatively close to your body without pulling it too tight.

Waist circumference

Measure around your natural waist, usually the narrowest part of your torso. Stand relaxed and avoid holding your stomach in.

Body length

Measure your height without shoes. Body length is mainly used as a guide when choosing between two sizes – chest circumference should be the primary factor.

Check the fit

The Core Hoodie should follow your body without restricting movement across your chest, shoulders or arms. You should be able to stretch your arms forward and over your head without the garment tightening or noticeably riding up.

The fit is too small if the seams pull over the shoulders or if the material feels tight across the chest. It is too large if excess material bunches under a shell jacket or if the garment hangs loosely around the torso.
