the OMM Core+ Hoodie – Warmer & More Robust Active Insulation in PrimaLoft® Active

See our entire range from the OMM here!

The OMM Core+ Hoodie is a warmer, more durable and still extremely breathable midlayer , developed for cold, windy and demanding conditions where you move at high intensity. It is part of OMM's groundbreaking Core series , which is based entirely on PrimaLoft® Active , an insulation material that combines fleece-like warmth with less than half the weight and significantly better moisture and temperature regulation.

The Core+ variant uses the heavier 125 g/m² version of PrimaLoft® Active , making it noticeably warmer and more robust than the Core Hoodie (75 g/m²), but without losing its characteristic almost total air permeability . The insulation consists of synthetic plumes woven directly through an open mesh material , creating large air pockets that effectively trap body heat, while quickly venting excess heat away when the pace increases.

This makes the Core+ Hoodie a true “valley-to-summit” garment . Combined with a thin shell, such as OMM Sonic Windproof, it acts as a surprisingly warm insulation system with extreme warmth-to-weight performance. If you get too hot, you can easily adjust the temperature by opening or removing the shell – the midlayer itself can stay in place even during hard physical exertion.

The garment works equally well wet or dry . PrimaLoft® Active insulates even when wet and dries very quickly , making the Core+ Hoodie ideal for long days in variable mountain weather. The soft, rolled hood acts as both a hood and a warming collar , providing extra protection without interfering with movement patterns.

Weighing in at around 185 grams, the Core+ Hoodie offers an unusually high level of warmth in a very lightweight and packable format , making it an obvious choice for trail running, fastpacking, alpine adventures and ultra races where traditional insulation garments become too constricting.

How is the OMM Core+ Hoodie sized?

The Core+ Hoodie has a close-fitting and athletic fit . The model should follow the upper body and work under a wind or shell jacket without unnecessary bulk.

The fit can be felt as smaller and slimmer than many other outdoor brands. This is particularly noticeable over the chest, shoulders and sleeves when the shirt is worn over additional layers.

Fit example

Published fit examples show the following:

  • A person who is 172 cm tall and weighs 62 kg finds S to be close-fitting and normal in fit.
  • The same person experiences M as more spacious.
  • People who are approximately 174 cm tall and weigh between 58 and 64 kg are shown in size M.
  • An external retailer recommends considering a larger size as the model may feel smaller than other brands.

The examples are for guidance only. Chest circumference, shoulder width, arm length and planned layers affect the size selection.

Our size recommendation

Choose size based on use and desired fit:

  • Directly against the skin or over a thin base layer: normally choose the size that corresponds to your bust circumference.
  • If you are between two sizes, we recommend the larger one.
  • Choose a larger size if the sweater will be worn over a thicker first layer.
  • If you have broad shoulders, a stronger chest or long arms, you should consider going up a size.
  • Choose the smaller size only if you want a very close fit and all body measurements are within range.

How do you measure?

Chest circumference

Measure around the widest part of your chest with your arms relaxed. The measuring tape should lie horizontally and close to your body without being tight. It is advisable to measure over the layer you plan to wear underneath the shirt.

Waist

Measure around the narrowest part of your torso. Keep your stomach relaxed and let the measuring tape follow your body.

Body length

Measure your height without shoes. Body length provides guidance on sleeve and garment length, but chest circumference should guide size selection.

Check the fit

The Core+ Hoodie fits correctly when:

  • the shirt follows the body without restricting breathing,
  • the material is not tight across the chest or shoulders,
  • you can lift your arms without the bottom being pulled up sharply,
  • the sleeves reach the wrists even when the arms are stretched forward,
  • the hood sits close to the head without uncomfortable pressure,
  • there is room for planned layers under the shirt,
  • a shell jacket can be worn without the Core+ Hoodie bunching up or feeling bulky.
