The Topo Athletic Ultraventure 5 Wide is a versatile and well-cushioned men's trail shoe, designed for long runs, hiking and varied distances between asphalt, gravel and trails. The Wide version has a wide 2E fit that provides extra room for wider feet without compromising support around the midfoot and heel.

The updated ZipFoam™ midsole combines soft comfort with responsive cushioning. Along with a 35-millimeter stack height in the heel and 30 millimeters in the forefoot, it provides plenty of support for long days, while the 5-millimeter drop contributes to a natural and balanced stride.

Updated ZipFoam™ cushioning

The Ultraventure 5 features a redesigned ZipFoam™ midsole with a soft, supple feel. The material is engineered to be more responsive and maintain its cushioning properties longer than traditional EVA.

The generous cushioning reduces the load from hard surfaces and makes the model particularly suitable for long-distance running, ultra-running, hiking and leisurely workouts where comfort is a priority.

Vibram® grip for road and trail

The Vibram® XS Trek outsole features a versatile stud system that provides traction and durability on a variety of surfaces. The design works well on forest trails, gravel roads, dry rocks and shorter stretches of asphalt.

The Ultraventure 5 is primarily designed for light to moderately technical terrain and transitions between road and trail. For deep mud or very technical mountain terrain, a shoe with coarser, more aggressive studs may be a better choice.

Wide 2E fit and anatomical toe box

The Wide version has a wider last than the standard model and corresponds to a 2E in men's sizes. The Topo's anatomical toe box allows the toes to spread naturally, while the midfoot and heel are held securely in place.

The combination provides plenty of space in the forefoot without the shoe feeling loose when running. It is especially suitable for runners with a wide forefoot, higher foot volume or feet that swell over long distances.

Durable upper and gaiter attachments

The breathable mesh upper features recycled content and is updated for improved durability. Topo's universal gaiter system makes the shoe compatible with running and hiking gaiters that protect against gravel, needles and other debris. Gaiters sold separately.

The removable OrthoLite® insole provides additional comfort and has antimicrobial properties that help combat odor.

Fit and size

The Topo Athletic Ultraventure 5 Wide has a roomy 2E fit and is designed for wider feet. The toe box is generous, but the shoe should still sit firmly over the midfoot and around the heel.

Choose your usual running shoe size. If you are between sizes, wear thicker socks, or want extra room for long distances, a half size larger may be appropriate. Leave about an inch of space in front of your longest toe.

Care instructions

Brush or rinse off dirt with lukewarm water and clean with mild soap if necessary. Remove the insoles and let the shoes and soles air dry separately. Avoid washing machines, dryers, radiators and other direct heat sources as high heat can damage materials and adhesives.
