The Thermarest Trail Pro™ Sleeping Pad Large in Tide is a spacious, self-inflating sleeping pad for those who prioritize comfort, support, and insulation while hiking, camping, and other outdoor overnight stays. The Large version measures 196 x 63 cm and is especially suitable for taller people or those who want a more generous sleeping surface.
The 3" thick construction combines self-inflating foam with Therm-a-Rest's StrataCore™ technology. The 4.4 R-value provides effective insulation against ground cold, while the WingLock™ valve simplifies both inflation and deflation.
StrataCore™ uses a continuous layer of insulating foam between alternating channels of air and foam. The construction is designed to provide an efficient balance of warmth, weight and pack volume while maintaining the stable feel of a self-inflating mat.
The 7.6 cm high profile provides plenty of ground clearance and a flexible sleeping surface. The firmness can be easily adjusted by filling or releasing air.
Trail Pro has a tested R-value of 4.4 and provides good protection against ground cold for much of the year. How cold the sleeping pad can be used also depends on the sleeping bag, ground conditions, temperature and how cold you usually are.
In very cold winter conditions, the base can be combined with a foam underlay for a higher overall R-value and extra safety in case the inflatable sleeping pad is damaged.
Open the WingLock™ valve and allow the foam core to draw in air and expand. Finish with a few breaths until the mattress is at the desired firmness.
The valve has a larger opening and approximately three times the airflow of the Therm-a-Rest classic valve. The one-way function prevents air from leaking between breaths, while the valve's side wings open for quick deflation.
The top is made of soft, knitted 50D polyester that follows the body's stress points and provides a comfortable sleeping surface. The underside is made of stronger 75D solution-dyed polyester for better wear resistance against the tent floor.
In solution dyeing, the pigment is added when the fiber is manufactured. The method requires less water and energy than traditional dyeing of a finished fabric.

Unroll the sleeping pad, open the valve and let the foam expand. Then inflate with a few breaths until the desired firmness is achieved. Check the ground and remove sharp stones, twigs and other objects that could damage the underside.
For longer storage, the sleeping pad should be dry, rolled out and stored with the valve open. This helps the foam core maintain its expansion capacity. The packing bag is mainly used during transport.
