The Sea To Summit Spark Down Sleeping Bag −1°C Regular is an ultra-light and highly compressible down sleeping bag for hiking, mountaineering, fastpacking and other adventures where light weight is essential. The sleeping bag weighs only 493 grams, contains 265 grams of high-quality goose down and compresses to approximately 4.5 liters.
The Regular model fits users up to approximately 185 centimeters tall. The temperature rating is tested according to ISO 23537 with a comfort temperature of +4 °C and a lower temperature limit of −1 °C.
The insulation consists of RDS-certified goose down with 850+ fillpower and a distribution of 90% down and 10% feathers. The high fillpower means that the down can create a large insulating volume in relation to its weight.
The down features Sea to Summit's non-PFAS Ultra-Dry Down treatment. The treatment causes the down to absorb less moisture and dry faster than untreated down, helping the insulation maintain its loft and performance in humid conditions.
RDS certification means that the origin of the down can be traced and that the supply chain is covered by requirements for responsible animal husbandry.
The Spark −1°C uses a combination of box-shaped down channels across the torso and sewn-through channels in the leg area. The box construction around the torso reduces the risk of cold spots where insulation is needed most.
The stitched-through construction around the legs uses less material and helps keep the sleeping bag's overall weight and pack volume down. The result is a weight-optimized construction suited for trips where every gram counts.
The product name temperature of −1 °C refers to the sleeping bag's ISO-tested lower temperature limit, also called lower limit. The comfort temperature is +4 °C.
The comfort temperature indicates the temperature at which a standardized female test subject is expected to be able to sleep comfortably. The lower limit indicates the lower temperature at which a standardized male test subject is expected to be able to sleep without waking up from the cold.
The temperature specifications should be seen as a guide and not as a guarantee. Individual cold tolerance, wind, humidity, clothing, food intake and, above all, the insulation capacity of the sleeping pad will affect the actual sleeping comfort. If the temperature is expected to approach −1 °C, freezing users should choose a warmer sleeping bag.
Both the outer fabric and lining are made of thin 10D nylon. The inner material is soft, lightweight and highly breathable, while the outer fabric has a non-PFAS water-repellent treatment.
The hood and foot box use an extra water-repellent material to better resist condensation from the tent fabric. The sleeping bag, however, is not waterproof and should always be protected from rain and other direct moisture.
The technical hood, insulating zip cover and anatomically shaped foot box help retain body heat. The ergonomic mummy shape reduces the amount of air that needs to be heated without making the sleeping bag unnecessarily cramped.
Spark −1 °C Regular has a half-length YKK #5 zipper. The shorter zipper saves weight and reduces heat loss compared to a zipper that runs the length of the sleeping bag.
A special zipper plow helps to move the fabric away and reduces the risk of the thin material getting caught when the zipper is opened or closed.
The half-length construction means that the sleeping bag cannot be fully opened and used as a blanket, nor can it be connected to another sleeping bag.

Air out your sleeping bag after use and allow it to dry completely before packing it away. For longer storage, store it loosely in a large storage bag or hang it in an airy manner. Do not store it permanently in the compression bag, as prolonged compression can reduce the loft of the down.
Wash only when necessary and always follow the instructions on the product's care label. Use a special down detergent without fabric softener. Dry the sleeping bag gently on a low temperature until the down is completely dry, distributing any lumps of down during drying.
The compression bag is not a waterproof stuff sack. During trips where the sleeping bag is at risk of being exposed to rain or moisture, it should therefore be stored in a separate waterproof bag.
