MULTIFUNCTIONAL VALVE

Sea To Summit developed its own multi-function valve to make inflation, deflation and pressure adjustment faster and easier. The low-profile, one-piece unit easily attaches to the Airstream Pumpsack included with each mat.

Stability = better comfort. The reason these pads are so much more comfortable than others on the market is how stable and supportive they feel. The unique pattern creates hundreds of interconnected chambers called Air Sprung Cells. Just like a pocket sprung mattress you might have at home, this matrix of cells provides exceptional support. And because these individual air pockets work independently, when you move on the mat, you don't get the rolling sensation that is common with air mats. Our sleeping mats are simply much more stable, resulting in a better night's sleep.

The TPU coating is applied to the inside of the substrate through a process unique to the medical and aerospace industries. Extrusion lamination is more durable, consistent and allows Sea To Summit to use its own TPU formula. It is far superior to roll-to-roll lamination, which is used in all other outdoor products right now and can suffer from delamination problems. Sea To Summit has also incorporated an antimicrobial treatment into its TPU formula to prevent mold or fungus growth inside the mattress. Although we have two excellent pump options, Airstream and Jet Stream, the antimicrobial treatment on the inside of the base means you can inflate with your own breath, worry free.

We developed 30/40D Nylon outer fabric to achieve the balance between weight and durability. The 40D warp (which runs lengthwise and gives the fabric strength) provides strength while the 30D weft (woven over the warp) reduces the overall fabric weight and creates a structured weave. On the inside, a light white extruded TPU is used to make the fabric airtight and weldable. A thin acrylic coating is applied to the outside to reduce gloss, increase puncture resistance and aid puncture repair with self-adhesive patches if required.

EXKIN PLATINUM

Exkin Platinum is a very light, quiet, non-woven fabric that has a thin metallized layer on the surface that reflects radiation back to the user.

THERMOLITE insulation, designed for optimal performance, is made from specially engineered fibers to achieve a high CLO value with low weight. THERMOLITE HL-1 high loft insulation is a fiber fill constructed with unique 3D shrinking of hollow core and solid fibers, providing excellent lightweight warmth with superior durability. THERMOLITE insulation lifts up in Air Sprung Cells to prevent convective heat loss from the warm body to the cold ground.

SINGLE BEARING DESIGN

Larger air pockets are created by using many TPU loops connecting the upper and lower fabric layers with Sea To Summit Air Sprung Cell welding pattern. The TPU loops allow the top and bottom layers to be placed further apart and create larger air pockets when inflated which requires less fabric overall. Perfect for side sleepers, the extra height of this base allows the hips to sink deeper without touching the ground.
