The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Bag 35L is a spacious yet ultra-lightweight dry bag for organizing and protecting sleeping gear, clothing and other bulky gear. It is primarily intended for use inside a backpack, bike bag, duffel or suitcase.
Despite its generous 35-liter volume, the pack only weighs around 65 grams. It can be used as a large internal pack or as a lightweight inner liner in many hiking backpacks.
The stuff sack is made from 30D Ultra-Sil® Cordura® nylon. The thin ripstop fabric uses durable Cordura fibers to provide a high strength-to-weight ratio.
The exterior is siliconized to repel moisture and create a slippery surface that slides easily between other gear. The interior has a waterproof polyurethane coating that allows the seams to be taped. The material is slightly translucent, helping you identify the contents without opening the bag.
The Ultra-Sil material has a stated water column of over 2,000 millimeters. The seams are double-stitched and taped to prevent moisture from entering through the seam holes.
The construction provides good protection against rain, snow, condensation and moisture inside the backpack. However, the thin material is more susceptible to punctures and heavy abrasion than Sea to Summit's heavier drybags. Therefore, avoid dragging the bag over rocks, gravel and other rough surfaces.
The opening has a reinforced Hypalon edge that does not absorb and transport moisture into the pack. To create a secure closure, the opening should be rolled at least three full turns before the buckle is closed.
The replaceable 15-millimeter wide Field Repair Buckle has two stainless steel pins. If the buckle becomes damaged, it can be replaced without having to split or re-sew the strap.
The round bottom has a diameter of about 30 centimeters and the bag is about 70 centimeters high with the opening rolled out. The cylindrical shape is particularly suitable for soft and bulky equipment such as sleeping bags, reinforcements and a change of clothes.
The slippery exterior makes it easier to slide the filled bag into a backpack and to take it out when you arrive at the campsite.
The Ultra-Sil Dry Bag is designed for internal storage in backpacks and other bags. It is not intended for paddling, general boating use, or storage where it may be submerged.
Although the material and taped seams are waterproof, the roll closure is not pressure-proof. Electronics and other particularly moisture-sensitive equipment should therefore be double-packed or placed in a waterproof hard case.

Place the equipment in the bag, leaving enough room to roll the opening. Squeeze out any excess air, lay the sides of the opening evenly together, and roll the Hypalon edge at least three full turns. Then snap the buckle shut.
Avoid overfilling the bag, as this can make it difficult to roll the opening properly. Pack sharp and angular objects separately so they are not directly against the thin material.
Wipe the packing bag with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Do not use bleach, solvents, machine wash or tumble dry.
Allow the bag to dry completely with the opening rolled out before packing it away. Store it in a dry place and away from prolonged sunlight, open flames and strong heat. Regularly check the material, seams and roll closure for small holes or other damage.
