The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Bag 20L is an ultra-light and waterproof dry bag for organizing and protecting clothing, sleeping gear and other accessories inside a backpack, bike bag or suitcase.
Despite a 20-liter pack volume, this version weighs only about 50 grams. The round bottom and tall, cylindrical shape make it easy to utilize the space in a larger bag, while the slippery siliconized exterior helps the stuff sack slide down between other gear.
The stuff sack is made of 30D Ultra-Sil® Cordura® nylon. The material uses strong Cordura fibers in a thin ripstop weave that provides a high strength-to-weight ratio.
The exterior is siliconized to repel moisture and create a slippery, easy-to-stow surface. The interior has a waterproof polyurethane coating that allows the seams to be taped. The material is semi-transparent, which helps you see what's inside the bag without opening it.
The Ultra-Sil material has a stated water column of over 2,000 millimeters. The seams are double-stitched, reinforced at stress points and sealed with waterproof tape.
The construction provides effective protection against rain, snow, condensation and moisture inside the backpack. However, the very thin material is more sensitive to punctures and abrasion than Sea to Summit's stronger drybags. Therefore, avoid direct contact with sharp objects, rocky surfaces and rough surfaces.
The opening has a reinforced Hypalon edge that does not absorb and transport moisture into the pack. To create a tight closure, the edge should be rolled at least three full turns before the buckle is closed.
The 15-millimeter wide Field Repair Buckle has two stainless steel pins. The design allows the buckle to be replaced without the need to split or re-sew the strap.
The Ultra-Sil Dry Bag is primarily designed for waterproof storage inside a backpack, bike bag or suitcase. Its low weight makes it particularly useful for hiking, fastpacking, bike tours and trips where pack weight needs to be kept down.
The stuff sack is not intended for paddling, general boating use or situations where it may be submerged. The roll closure is not pressure-tight and water may enter during prolonged immersion. Electronics and other particularly sensitive equipment should be double-packed or placed in a waterproof hard case.

Place the equipment in the bag, leaving enough room to roll the opening. Squeeze out any excess air, lay the sides of the opening evenly together, and roll the Hypalon edge at least three full turns. Then snap the buckle shut.
Avoid overfilling the bag, as this can make it difficult to roll the opening enough times. Pack sharp or angular objects separately so they are not directly against the thin fabric.
Wipe the packing bag with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Do not use bleach, solvents, machine wash or tumble dry.
Allow the bag to dry completely with the opening rolled out before packing it away. Store it in a dry place and away from prolonged sunlight, open flames and strong heat. Regularly check the seams, material and roll closure for small holes or other damage.
