Lifesystems Survival Shelter 4 is a robust and quick-set-up emergency shelter for four people. The windbag creates a protected microclimate in case of strong winds, rain, snow or an unexpected break and helps the group preserve body heat when the weather deteriorates.

It is a valuable addition to safety equipment for hiking, skiing, mountaineering, cycling, orienteering and other outdoor group activities.

Weather protection for four people

Survival Shelter 4 can accommodate four seated people and measures 140 x 90 x 80 cm when folded up. The group sits on the integrated waterproof seat panels and pulls the shelter over themselves, creating a warmer and more sheltered environment than standing unprotected in the elements.

The windbag can be used in an emergency, but is also practical during planned breaks, map checks or route selection in bad weather. It is not a substitute for a tent, sleeping bag or insulating clothing for longer stays.

Robust construction with 5,000 mm water column

The durable, PU-coated material has a water column of 5,000 mm. Fully taped seams and waterproof seat panels provide effective protection against precipitation and ground moisture.

An integrated window lets in light and allows you to see out. The ventilation opening contributes to air circulation, while reflective strips on the top improve visibility in the dark and bad weather.

Compact safety equipment for the group

When not in use, the cover packs away in the integrated storage bag with drawstring closure. The pack dimensions are approximately 22 × 12 × 12 cm and the weight is approximately 510 grams, which corresponds to just under 128 grams per person when the weight is shared between four users.

Use

Remove the cover from the storage bag and place the opening downwards. Sit on the waterproof seat panels and pull the cover over the group. Make sure the ventilation opening is clear and if possible place the opening sheltered from the wind.

In the event of serious injury, suspected hypothermia or other emergency situation, the emergency services should be contacted. In Sweden, call 112.
