Hilleberg Altai XP Basic

Jurassic-inspired Altai is an extraordinarily versatile choice for anyone who needs a large, yet lightweight group tent for all seasons. With center bar and supporting side bars, it provides full standing height in the middle and sufficient seat height along the side walls. It can be set up either with its own poles, alternatively with skis, paddles or other of similar length as the middle pole, and rods along the sides. It can also be hung at the top and suspended along the sides. Altai can sleep at least six people, and can easily accommodate twelve or more people sitting inside along the side walls.

For higher comfort, Altai Basic can be combined with the floorless inner tent, or with the removable floor (which consists of two parts and can be adapted to have "walk" in the middle, or to cover only half, or the entire floor area). You can also use both of these accessories together. In hot conditions, the two side pieces closest to the entrance can be partially rolled up for extra ventilation.

For professional users - guides, course leaders, expeditions, military special forces, or similar - Altai is both very good as a first aid tent, for meals, for course activities and lessons and because it has a large sleeping area. For paddlers and cyclists, Altai offers a large and protected space for sorting and repairing equipment. Tourists also find that Altai is an excellent choice, as foot wells and sleeping areas can be dug out in the snow and storm mats keep the sides of the tent in place. At the same time, Altai's simplicity and large space at very low weight make it a good alternative for scouts or other groups. Even couples, in Altai can find a comfortable, convenient and palace-like tent for many trips in all seasons.

It is available in two versions: The lighter Altai UL Basic is made of Kerlon 1200 - the same lightweight fabric found in our four-season Red Label tents. It is the ideal option for those who want to wear light. Altai XP Basic on the other hand is made of Kerlon 2500, an extremely strong and extremely robust material. It is the best choice for the most demanding tours. Both have the same powerful zippers and robust mounts, and both are fully equipped with side bars and adjustable center bar.

The name "Altai" comes from the name of the mountain range in Central Asia where Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan meet, where the design of the yurt originated once upon a time.
