The Exped Lyra II is a freestanding and spacious 3-season tent for two people. The combination of two entrances, two vestibules and an internal seat height of 110 centimeters provides good comfort during hiking, cycling and other multi-day adventures.
The tent has a robust construction in 68D taffeta polyester, a breathable inner tent with fine-mesh mosquito netting and a durable floor with a 5,000 millimeter water column. With a packed weight of approximately 2.1 kilograms, the Lyra II is suitable for those who prioritize easy set-up, space and durability over the absolute lowest weight.
The pole segments are joined with elastic cord to form a continuous pole structure. The inner tent is attached with practical clips, making set-up quick and easy.
The inner tent is freestanding and can be used without an outer tent in dry and warm conditions. To tension the vestibules and storm ropes correctly, the tent needs to be supplemented with ground anchoring.
An entrance on each side allows both people to get in and out without having to climb over each other. Each side also has a vestibule that provides protected storage space for backpacks, shoes and other equipment.
The two vestibules together provide approximately 1.35 square meters of additional space. The design also makes it easier to organize equipment and keep the sleeping area clear.
The inner tent measures approximately 215 × 130 centimeters and has a floor area of 2.8 square meters. The width accommodates two Exped sleeping pads in size M or LW.
The 110-centimeter interior height provides a comfortable seating height, while the rod construction creates usable space at the head and foot ends as well. Interior storage options help keep smaller equipment organized and easily accessible.
Parts of the inner tent consist of fine-mesh 15D No-See-Um mosquito netting that contributes to good air circulation and keeps small insects out. Thicker polyester sections further down provide more wind protection and privacy.
When the weather is stable, the inner tent can be used without the outer tent for maximum ventilation and a clear view of the night sky.
The flysheet is made of 68D taffeta polyester with PU coating and taped seams. The material has a 3,000 mm water column and absorbs less water than nylon, meaning it retains its shape well when wet.
The tent floor is made of PU-coated 68D taffeta polyester with taped seams and a 5,000 mm water column. It provides durable protection against ground moisture during normal use for three seasons.

The Exped Lyra II uses a durable 68D polyester flysheet with PU coating and taped seams, providing a robust, easy-care construction that is less susceptible to stretching when the material gets wet.
Lyra II Extreme uses lighter, silicone-coated ripstop nylon and is therefore lighter in weight. The regular Lyra II is a good choice when durability, ease of handling and value for money are prioritized over minimal pack weight.

Footprint is not included and must be purchased separately.
Always allow the tent to dry completely before packing it away for extended storage. Brush off loose dirt and clean with lukewarm water and a soft sponge if necessary. Avoid washing in the washing machine, strong detergents and prolonged exposure to intense sunlight.
Regularly check the tent fabric, floor, seams, zippers, poles and storm ropes. It is advisable to use a compatible footprint on rocky or uneven ground to reduce wear and tear on the tent floor.
