Lundhags Secura Safety System is a safety system that, together with a compatible skating backpack and rescue line, forms a rescue harness for long-distance skating.
The system features an adjustable crotch strap and a carabiner where the rescue line can be attached. The straps attach to the backpack with Velcro fasteners and help create a stable connection point for buddy rescues on natural ice.
The Secura Safety System attaches to a compatible backpack and complements the backpack's carrying system with a crotch strap. The crotch strap helps keep the backpack on your body if you end up in the water and are pulled by a lifeline.
The carabiner creates an easily accessible attachment point for the rescue line, so you don't have to hold the line with just your hands during the rescue.
The crotch strap can be adjusted to fit the user and the clothing worn on the ice. The fit should be close enough to the body for the strap to function as intended, but without restricting movement while skating.
When the system is not in use, the straps can be stored away using the Velcro fasteners.

The Secura Safety System is intended for backpacks with compatible attachment points and fits particularly well with the Lundhags Gero 35 WP .
Always check that your backpack has the correct construction and attachment points before using the system. A regular hiking backpack without compatible attachments will not automatically become a rescue harness by attaching the crotch strap.
Both systems have an adjustable crotch strap and a carabiner for a rescue line. The main difference is in the color and how they attach to the backpack.
Secura Safety System: Red and has two Velcro fasteners. Fits especially well with the Lundhags Gero 35 WP.
Speik Secura Safety System: Charcoal and has a long Velcro fastener. Fits especially well with Lundhags Speik Ice and is compatible with several other skate backpacks.
Choose a model based on the backpack you use and check the attachment before you head out onto the ice.
The product includes the safety harness itself with straps, crotch strap and carabiner. The following equipment is not included and must be purchased separately:

The backpack needs to be packed correctly to provide the intended buoyancy. The safety system does not replace knowledge of ice conditions or buddy rescue practice.
Mount the system on the backpack and adjust the crotch strap before starting the ride. Check that:
The straps are attached to the backpack's designated attachments
The Velcro fasteners are securely closed.
The crotch strap is correctly adjusted.
The carabiner is intact and easily accessible.
The lifeline can be reached without removing the backpack
Practice using the safety system and rescue line under safe and controlled conditions. Always follow Lundhags assembly instructions and the instructions for the backpack being used.
Check straps, seams, Velcro fasteners and carabiner before each ride. Do not use the system if any part is damaged, severely worn or can no longer be securely attached.
Allow the equipment to dry after use and store it in a dry place. Check the fit again when changing layers of clothing or lending the equipment to another person.
