Lundhags Grip Ice Claw PRO is a pair of ice cleats developed for cross-country skating and other activities on natural ice. The PRO model attaches high to the backpack's shoulder strap, so the ice cleats can be kept close at hand without hanging around the neck.
The handles are made of hard plastic and non-slip rubber to provide a secure grip even with cold or wet hands. The ice spikes come with a protective holder and whistle.
The Grip Ice Claw PRO mounts directly to the backpack's shoulder strap. An elastic cord helps keep the lower part in place and reduces the risk of the ice cleats moving while skiing.
Place the holder high enough so that you can quickly reach the ice studs with both hands. Check the fit with the backpack on and with the same gloves you use on the ice.
The combination of hard plastic and rubber provides a stable grip in cold and wet conditions. When not in use, the tips are stored protected in the included holder.

If you are going through ice, try to get up on the same side you came from, as the ice there has already supported your weight. Remove the ice crampons, keep the tips pointing down and work close to your body. Attach the crampons to the ice and use them as handles as you pull yourself up.
Use your whistle to alert others. Once you are on the surface, roll or crawl away from the weak ice before attempting to stand up.
The Grip Ice Claw PRO is designed to be attached to the shoulder strap of a backpack. The standard Grip Ice Claw model is instead worn around the neck with an adjustable strap.
The PRO model is suitable for those who want to integrate the crampons with the backpack and keep them high on the shoulder strap. Regardless of the model, it is important that the crampons can be reached immediately with both hands.
Ice spikes are not a substitute for knowledge of ice conditions or other safety equipment. When traveling on natural ice, you should also have ice spikes, a rescue rope, a properly packed backpack with buoyancy, and a waterproof change of clothes. Travel with others and adapt the trip to the weather, ice conditions, and experience.
Check the ice spikes and their attachment before each use. Store the tips in the protective holder and allow the equipment to dry after the trip. The ice spikes should be stored in a dark, dry place at room temperature.
According to the product's instructions, the ice spikes should be replaced after five years of use, or sooner if parts are worn or damaged.
