Lundhags Grip Ice Claw is a pair of ice cleats for long-distance skating and other activities on natural ice. The hard plastic handles have rubberized grip surfaces that provide a more stable grip even when your hands are cold or wet.

The ice spikes are stored in a protective holder with an adjustable neck strap and included whistle. When worn high around the neck, they are quickly accessible in the event of an ice break.

Ice studs with good grip in cold and wet conditions

The ergonomically designed handles combine hard plastic with rubberized grip surfaces. The design makes it easier to hold onto the studs and work the tips into the ice.

The protective holder covers the sharp tips when the ice crampons are not in use. The neck strap can be adjusted so that the crampons sit high and easily accessible without getting in the way during the ride.

Whistle included

A whistle is included to help you call attention in an emergency. Place the whistle so that it can also be quickly reached when carrying the ice crampons.

How to wear ice cleats

Place the neck strap around your neck and adjust the length so that the ice spikes sit high, just below your chin. They should be visible and within easy reach with both hands.

Never store ice spikes in a closed pocket or at the bottom of your backpack when on natural ice. They must be accessible even if you are in the water.

If the ice breaks

Remove the spikes from the holder and hold them with the tips facing the ice. Work the spikes close to your body and press the tips firmly into the ice to get a grip.

Try to climb in the same direction you came from, as the ice there previously supported your weight. Once you have climbed, roll or crawl away from the wake before getting up.

Practice retrieving and using ice crampons in a controlled and safe environment. Practical training and knowledge of ice rescue are essential to be able to act in a real emergency situation.

Part of complete ice safety equipment

Ice cleats do not replace knowledge of ice or other safety equipment. When traveling on natural ice, equipment should be adapted to the activity and conditions and supplemented with, among other things:

Ice spike

Lifeline

Flotation aid or properly packed skate backpack

Changing in waterproof storage

Knowledge of ice assessment and buddy rescue

Never go alone on natural ice. Check current ice conditions and plan your trip with people who have the right knowledge.

Control and storage

Before each use, check that the studs, tips, strap and holder are intact and working properly. Always store the studs in the protective holder when not in use.

After contact with water, the ice cubes should be dried before placing them in the holder. Store the product in a dry and dark place at room temperature.

The manufacturer's user information states that the product should be replaced after five years of use. Replace it sooner if any part is damaged, worn, or not working properly.

The difference between Grip Ice Claw and Grip Ice Claw Pro

The Grip Ice Claw is worn on an adjustable strap around the neck.

Instead, the Grip Ice Claw Pro is designed to attach to the shoulder strap of your backpack. Choose the model that fits your other safety equipment and how you want to carry the ice cleats.
