The OMM Z‑Lite Poles – Carbon are extremely light, rigid, 4-piece carbon fiber running poles , designed for mountain running, ultra-running and fast-paced adventures where every gram counts . The poles are based on the same thoughtful design as the Z‑Lite Alloy, but use carbon fiber to provide even lower weight and higher stiffness , perfect for runners who prioritize efficient power transfer on steep climbs and technical terrain.
The fixed length minimizes mechanical parts and provides high reliability, while the four-section Z-construction allows the poles to be quickly folded to a very short pack length . This makes them easy to carry in, for example, the OMM Pole Pod , backpack or vest when the terrain does not require poles.
Z‑Lite Poles – Carbon feature an ergonomically shaped EVA softgrip handle , designed for comfort during long sessions. The handle features a recessed channel for Velcro closure storage , keeping your gear tidy when the poles are packed away. A molded webbing wrist strap , low-profile barrel , and integrated cord storage make the pole ready for both competition and longer adventures.
The poles are available in five fixed lengths (110–130 cm) , with each size identified by a color-coded wrist strap . Rinse after use in dirty environments. Avoid hard impacts against rocks and allow poles to dry completely before storage to maximize lifespan.
OMM Z-Lite Poles Carbon are ultra-light, foldable fixed-length running poles. The model is available in five lengths from 110 to 130 cm. Since the poles cannot be adjusted in length, it is important to choose the right size from the start.
Start from your body length and then check that the poles provide a natural elbow angle and relaxed shoulders.

For most runners, the table provides a good starting point. The correct pole length should allow you to place the pole close to your body and work with relaxed shoulders.
The carbon fiber construction does not change the length you need. The same basic principles apply as for other fixed running poles.

For example, if you are 180 cm tall, you will end up close to the 120-125 cm limit. Choose 120 cm for faster running and steep climbs, or 125 cm for more support and reach.
Mount the pole and put on the shoes you usually wear when running.
The pole is too long if you need to lift your shoulder or bring your hand unnaturally high. It is probably too short if your elbow becomes severely bent and you have to lean forward to get an effective pole grip.
When going uphill, the distance between your hand and the ground becomes shorter. A slightly shorter pole or a lower grip on the 12 cm long EVA handle can then provide a better working position.
On flat sections and downhill, a longer pole can provide more reach and support. However, it should not be so long that the pole movement slows down the stride or creates tension in the shoulders.
Slide your hand up through the strap from underneath and then grab the handle. The strap should be between your hand and the pole, providing support without pinching.
Adjust the strap so that you can relax your grip slightly without losing control of the pole. A properly adjusted strap will reduce the need to grip the handle tightly during longer sessions.
The correct pole length should provide an easy, rhythmic and efficient pole stroke without unnecessary strain on the wrists, elbows or shoulders.
