Constructed from Dyneema-reinforced nylon and combined with a highly breathable membrane, it has all the features you would expect from a shell jacket, but weighs less than most other jackets.

Equally at home on a rain-swept moorland as on an exposed alpine ridge, Aether offers the durability of a much heavier shell jacket but with the weight and packability of much thinner jackets, thanks to the incredible physics behind Dyneema. Dyneema, the world’s strongest fiber, is 15 times stronger than steel but has a weight close to silk. Commonly found in ballistic body armor, climbing harnesses and boating equipment, Dyneema has long been prized for its incredible lightweight strength and durability.

And it’s this durability that makes the Aether one of OMM’s most sustainable jackets to date. Combined with the now industry standard PFC-free DWR and PFAS-free membrane, Dyneema is made from recycled materials and opens up the possibility of a fully sustainable and circular manufacturing process, minimizing waste and reducing the impact of both manufacturing and use.
