The Samaya ULTRA20 is an extremely lightweight and fully waterproof alpine backpack , designed for alpinists, skiers and climbers who need maximum performance at minimum weight in demanding environments. With a base weight of around 345–375 grams and a volume of 20 liters + approx. 5 liters via roll-top , the ULTRA20 is designed for steep, exposed and technical terrain where every gram counts.

The backpack is made of Dyneema® Composite Fabric Hybrid , a laminated material that combines high durability with full waterproofness (approx. 20,000 mm) . The exterior is reinforced with woven polyester for better abrasion resistance, while the Dyneema® laminate on the inside ensures that the pack stays dry even in snow, ice and persistent rainfall. All seams are 100% taped , making the ULTRA20 completely waterproof without the need for a rain cover.

For extra durability in alpine environments , the base is made of 300D Woven Dyneema® and the area around the ice axe blade is reinforced with 1000D Cordura® . Together, this provides very robust protection against sharp edges, crampons, skis and rock contact.

The ULTRA20 has a modular design with several parts being removable. You can scale the backpack down to the bare minimum or use full equipment depending on the demands of the trip. A removable EVA back panel (5mm PE structure) provides stability when the pack is loaded, while the waist belt and sternum strap can be removed to save additional weight. This makes the ULTRA20 just as relevant as a summit pack as it is for intensive day or speed tours.

Optimized for technical gear, the backpack features removable ski, snowboard and ice axe mounts , as well as compression straps for stable cargo. An easy-to-access zippered pocket under the top lid and an interior pocket with key clip keep small items organized without compromising on minimalism.
